iangidds
Just looking at the non story of Greg Inglis and him saying he is keeping all doors open! Wow talk about focussing on a negative when one of the biggest games is about to take place! How do we get in touch with the prat that runs the webpage? Futtocks
Should not the RL spin doctors intervene here? They should be working hard to get these events publicised in a positive manner When you are working against an agenda (conscious or subconscious), it isn't easy to just intervene and make everything alright. Especially when the player and his agent have said they would be open to offers from the other code. Konkrete
Inglis playing Onion in the UK would be a travesty. I can't think of a more depressing sight than seeing one of the greatest players ever waiting and waiting for the ball to arrive from under the subtle and nuanced fat blokes. Then when the field is open and at his mercy seeing it punted to and fro between full backs like a shuttlecock, as the crowd rah in awe at the skills of the relentless 'box kicks'. Pah! Forever in our shadow, forever on your mind.

Cake Tiger
One of the problems is a lack of full-time RL journalists in the national media. It's a question asked by someone who probably has more interest in RU than RL and will think to himself "what will the readers be most interested in?". No matter how many press releases are issued, no matter how a media manager tries to steer a press conference towards RL, you cannot stop the press asking questions freely. It is RL's job to make the press more interested in asking only RL based questions. Some press is better than none even if it is frustrating to see the coverage always veering towards RU. Actually, assuming he'd be a winger in RU, box kicks might be good for him - at least he'd have a chance of getting his hands on the ball

Am i wrong? According to some on this forum they have have an agenda against socialists, so they must feel terribly persecuted and no doubt the Guardian is banned at the BBC. redjonn
Gosh, the way I would look at it is that it is a positive for RL. That is RU chasing our code because we have top talent that they can't produce. I guess it depends on your mindset. Seems to be that some look at anything RL in the news with a negative in first instance and unless totally on message as far as they are concerned they deem it bias. Anyway it seems to have got some talking about it, even here in die hard RL forum, so I would guess the reporter is happy with his story gaining currency and he feels "job done". Maybe an ignore would have been better than highlighting a negative bias against whatever the media/BBC do.
Dunbar
You can easily see how this came about. Inglis attends the media day for the WCS and has his picture taken in various poses with the players from the other teams. He then fields questions from journalists about the Saints game Then of course the subject turns to Sam Burgess and inglis is asked if he would consider Union. His answer is that he is contracted to Souths till 2017 and happy to stay there but (and I quote) "I am never going to close doors. I leave everything open" This then turns into a headline on the BBC website that 'Inglis is Open to a Union Switch' So in the week before the WCC match when we should be building up to the big game, the focus from the countries leading media outlet is that one of the players would consider a switch to Union in two years time when he will be over 30 years old You try not to think of it as bias (and I have posted earlier in this thread that the Pointless bias should not be taken seriously) but it is very very hard not to come to this conclusion "The history of the world is the history of the triumph of the heartless over the mindless." — Sir Humphrey Appleby. "If someone doesn't value evidence, what evidence are you going to provide to prove that they should value it? If someone doesn't value logic, what logical argument could you provide to show the importance of logic?" — Sam Harris
Aussie Bronco
The story is a load of ######, typical awful media here in Australia, all Inglis has said is that he is keeping his options open. Read this guys:http://www.triplem.com.au/sydney/sport/nrl/news/2015/2/agent-of-greg-inglis-denies-star-client-is-being-shopped-around-to-league-and-union-clubs-overseas/Inglis won't leave, he generally loves RL unlike many others who have left before him and is very loyal. When the new NRL TV Deal comes around (Which is in 2017, the same year Inglis comes off contract) there will be loads more cash in the game, much more than French Rugby. So if he leaves it isn't because of money, because he will earn more in the NRL anyways.
ParraEelsNRL
He would be mad to leave RL, he will go down as one of the all time greatest players and a role model for the indigenous community. After football, I'm sure the NRL and the media stations out here will have something lined up for him. In saying that, he is free to do what he likes and knowing ch9, even if he went to the dark side for a season or two for some extra coin, once back in Aus, he'd only be known for one thing, and it wouldn't be long before he was back covering that one thing he is known for out here. Good luck to him anyway, wish he played at Parra.
EastLondonMike
Does the RFL have a media manager?.. Does he or she not think it best to speak to all players facing the media in some capacity and tell them to keep everything on subject ie the world club series, and any references to union or any other sport to be deferred with a polite "I'm not interested in that, I'm here to talk about The WCS".. Roughyhead true
He will be 30 by time he goes. If a French union club want to pay him for when he is on the slippery slope than fine by me.
Mr Frisky
Sad thing here is Salford could afford him (paying silly wages but up to MK how he spends his money) but the RFL and Super League won't let them/him spend that sort of cash. Would double their gates as well as the attendance for all other clubs when playing away. But if he goes he will end up in France rolling around in the mud.
