Shaun Fensom spent much of last year playing reserve grade football because Stuart brought in the likes of Paulo from Parramatta, Whitehead and Soliola from Super League, where was the loyalty there?

Can't have it both ways.

I don't think it was just Whitehead & Soliola who pushed him out the team (though they both probably bring more than Fensom does anyway). Young Bateman really stepped up in 2016 and probably deserved his place in the team ahead of Fensom as well. Throw in the fact that Hodgson can also play at 13 and I reckon Fensom's days were always numbered at the Raiders.

The word is that this Friday, Tim Simona will be banned from the game for life as a result of his gambling on games.

As was discussed on the Footy show, like to know full details on this. Like certain members of the Footy show feel life ban is to much.

The NRL needs to look at it relationship with Sportsbet, advertising gambling left right and centre.

And Damian Phythian from the Knights who did an ACL, also not in a tackle and without any obvious stress on the knee.

With this Bryce Cartwright story I think we've finally crossed the line into personal life with absolutely no legitimate public interest nor any "right to know" owed to anyone.

Yep. He's got a few issues, but to print that story is pretty low.

The NRL today issued Newcastle Knights player Jarrod Mullen with a Notice of Alleged Anti-Doping Rule Violations under the NRL’s Anti-Doping Policy.

This follows advice from the Australian Sports Anti-Doping Authority (ASADA) that Mullen’s B-sample has tested positive for an anabolic steroid, Drostanolone.

Jesse Bromwich, has today put pen to paper on a new three-year deal (with an option for a further two years) to remain in Melbourne.

The Storm and Kiwi enforcer has inked a contract that will see him continue wearing the purple jersey until at least the end of 2020.

Rumoured that Jarryd Hayne has been stood down from Titans' leadership group.

Some speculation that he has been looking to get out of the club.

On Fox Sports they are discussing him.

Saying that he has approached Roosters to return to Sydney, but apparently they don't want him.

Being discussed: him not being a good team player at Titans.

Turns out Aaron Woods was repectful and understanding of Greg Inglis' leg injury. Says how his team didn't target him and how he cushioned Greg in tackles.

It's great that Woods and the Tigers were respectful of Inglis' injury but neither party should have been placed in that position.

"The Jarryd Hayne situation at the Gold Coast Titans has all the hallmarks of a ticking time bomb.

And no matter what spin Hayne tries to put on it, there is no denying the star fullback reached out to the Roosters over the course of the off-season."

He's going to be watched very, very closely from round 2 onwards. Rumours of him turning up to pre-season training overweight, not giving his all, not saying that he's 100% commited to the Titans because he's keeping his options open...this would frustrate and annoy me if I was a Titans fan.

The NRL has agreed to purchase the rights to the Immortals.

Todd Greenberg said the NRL would acquire the rights from Bauer Media, which owned the Immortals trade mark.

He said it made sense for the NRL, as the operators of the game, to own and operate the Immortals awards.

Bauer Media publish a magazine in Oz called Rugby League Week.

It looks like this will be kicked into touch.

Staff have been told that there will only be two more editions.

This of course is not to be confused with the UK RL magazine Rugby League Weekly.

Melbourne is set to host next year’s landmark stand-alone NRL State of Origin Sunday blockbuster.

The NRL is committed to returning the Origin juggernaut to Melbourne in 2018 and game two of the best-of-three series will be played on a Sunday night, probably in June.

Likely to be fixtured during the AFL bye rounds, a crowd in excess of 90,000 would be expected to fill the MCG.

With no NRL club games on the weekend — a first — all eyes would be on Melbourne.

Redemption time!!! That'll please the Greenbergs, Meningas and Grants of this world. Fifita to return to the Australian Team this year.

All sarcasm aside, good on him.

Rabbitohs forward George Burgess was sent to the sin-bin for throwing punches but may face a harsher penalty for a thrown elbow. Gurgess knocked a ball on in the first tackle after a kick-off and then lashed out at Mitchell Barnett after the players collided. Put on report so could get a big penalty.
