The NRL will review the one-on-one strip rule at the end of the NRL season but head of football Graham Annesley says there's no guarantee it will change.

Brought in at the start of last year, coaches have began using the law which allows defenders to drop off tackles before the last remaining player pinches the ball.

Sydney Roosters coach Trent Robinson claimed on Sunday that referees were finding it hard to judge, echoing similar calls from Warriors mentor Stephen Kearney last month.

Canberra coach Ricky Stuart also complained referees were having to "guess" if the second tackler had dropped off in time, despite his team becoming the best exponent of the law.

And Annesley admitted it would be looked at come the end of the season by the competition committee.

"I'm sure it will be (looked at). I'm not suggesting it will be thrown out. We will look at these things in light of how they evolve," Annesley said.

Kieran Foran will return from a two-month injury lay-off, prompting a tough call for Bulldogs coach Dean Pay on two young halves.

Kieran Foran will be called into the starting side and play his first game in two months. Foran has been battling ankle and hamstring issues since last strapping on the boots in Round 15, but the veteran will return to the halves this weekend. It will then be up to coach Dean Pay whether to axe Jack Cogger or Lachlan Lewis from the side.

Brisbane are considering debuting a young outside back for their important clash with Penrith.

Izaia Perese is in the frame to make his Broncos debut, after being seen training at left centre on Wednesday. The Courier Mail reports Pereze is in a battle with Rhys Kennedy for a spot on the bench for Round 22. Matt Gillett (back) and Alex Glenn (knee) are racing the clock to be fit and called into the team. Both veteran forwards trained on Wednesday and it’s likely a decision will be made following the captain’s run on Thursday.

It is believed Warriors centre Gerard Beale has suffered severe patella tendon damage, keeping him out of action for an extended period of time and potentially putting his career in jeopardy.

The 29-year-old sustained the gruesome injury early in his side’s meek 36-point loss to the Roosters on Sunday, and was immediately rushed to hospital.

Paul Green - will he continue as head coach at Cowboys? He has of course brought good days to the club in the past. These last two seasons have been underwhelming though. There doesn't appear to be any talk of the axe being sharpened, I'm just speculating.

Mitchell Aubusson, the premiership-winning captain of the Sydney Roosters, has decided to run it back at least one more time.

Aubusson has played every game of his 13-season first-grade career for the club and is the third most-capped Rooster ever, behind only Luke Ricketson and Anthony Minichiello.

The 31-year-old signed a contract extension on Monday that will see him stay with the Foundation Club through the end of the 2020 season.

Heard he is highly thought of in QLD. He was apparently in the race for the Broncos job.

Dylan Walker is ready to put football and happiness ahead of money, admitting he’s prepared to take a pay cut to remain at Manly beyond the 2019 NRL season.

Walker, 24, hopes to have his future secured in the next few weeks as negotiations between the former NSW Origin representative and his club continue.

He has stated repeatedly his desire to remain on Sydney’s northern beaches, having settled there with his young family and thriving under coach Des Hasler this year.

Australian Rugby League Commission chairman Peter Beattie will stand down from his position in February and is expected to be replaced by NSW racing supremo Peter V’landys.

Beattie told the ARL Commission on Wednesday that he would not seek reappointment when his term expires early next year.

He is expected to make a public announcement as early as tomorrow.

The former Queensland premier has backed Racing NSW chief executive V’landys to take over and he now appears the clear frontrunner for the post.

Lottoland -

a fan was arrested for attempting to hit sin-binned Storm player Will Chambers as he walked off the field.

A man wearing a Sea Eagles jersey was taken from the ground in handcuffs by police after a confrontation with Chambers.

Footage from Fox League shows the man reaching through the tunnel with a phone in his hand, and trying to strike Chambers on his way past.

Chambers returns serve with a few words at the man, who is then quickly taken from the area by police.

Thing is, Chambers got sent to bin for nothing much. High tackle with no intention. Looked like it was the bunker who to me over reacted by giving a penalty and on report and ten minutes in bin.

I thought Gosieswski slipped into the tackle, Chambers didn't have a swinging or stiff arm so it was an accidental shoulder to the head at worst.

Penrith have won the race for the signature for Apisai Koroisau, who will return to the club next season on a three-year deal.

Canterbury were the favourites to edge out the Warriors for the services of the Manly hooker but the 26-year-old hooker has committed to Panthers until at least the end of 2022.

Koroisau played 16 games at Panthers in 2015 before spending the last four seasons with Manly Sea Eagles.

"I’m thrilled that we’ve been able to bring Api back to the club," Panthers coach Ivan Cleary said.

Manly will be forced to overturn a poor recent record without Tom Trbojevic if they are to land a blow in the NRL's finals series.

Trbojevic was due for scans on an injured pectoral muscle on Sunday, but Manly have already accepted his season is likely over after Saturday's 36-6 loss to Melbourne.

Trbojevic's injury is almost the worst possible blow the Sea Eagles could have been dealt on the eve of the finals.

As feared, it has been announced that TTurbo's season is over.

He suffered a torn pectoral on Saturday night in his side’s loss to the Storm.

The Sea Eagles were hoping to get Trbojevic back at some stage later this season, although the club confirmed on Monday he would undergo surgery, which would rule him out.

Following a consultation with the specialist today, Tom Trbojevic will undergo an operation on Wednesday, ruling him out for the season. #ManlyForever
