Corey Norman has announced that he’ll hang up the boots after his time with the Dragons concluded at the end of this season.

Best decision for him, he's been pretty poor for a few years now. Good on him for not doing like so many other  'past it' Aussies and come to SL to top up his pension.

How widespread is cocaine use in the NRL? I ask after a previous white powder incident and now reports that Blake Ferguson has been sacked by his Japanese rugby club before he’s even played a game for them. This follows his arrest (30th December) in Tokyo for and alleged assault on someone. When searched it is alleged that some cocaine was found on him.

The Broncos’ fight to keep gun centre Herbie Farnworth is set to get harder with reports an unexpected suitor has entered the race.

The 22-year-old comes off contract in November and is on the radar of the Dolphins for their inaugural season in 2023.

Now, English rugby union scouts have got their eye on the England-born and raised outside back, according to Wide World of Sports.

It’s understood the Broncos want to retain Farnworth but may not have the cash to match the hefty $500,000 salary the Dolphins are reportedly prepared to offer.

Rumour

Blake Ferguson to Newcastle Knights…

Surely not?????

I wouldn’t be that surprised , they  seem to be already struggling with injuries and a lack of experience. Whether he can get out of porridge and sort his mess out , and be accepted back is another story

Leigh Centurions winger Brendan Elliot has left the club following a short stint in Manchester.

He has put pen to paper on a one-year deal with the North Queensland Cowboys back in the NRL.

He must have agonised for seconds over that one

The Dolphins are apparently in advanced negotiations with Kiwi Test forward Kenny Bromwich.

Less than a week after landing the signature of the Melbourne Storm front rower Jesse Bromwich, the Dolphins are now aiming to turn the Bromwich brothers into a package deal for 2023.

And meanwhile The Storm plan for the future:

NRL news 2022: Transfer news; Dolphins close in on Melbourne Storm star Kenny Bromwich; Wayne Bennett; Craig Bellamy lands schoolboys star Jack Howarth (foxsports.com.au)

The Melbourne Storm have also recently landed the signature of one of the best rookie forwards in the game on a five-year deal worth $2.5 million.

Jack Howarth, 19, can play in the centres or backrow and was part of the 2019 Australian Schoolboys team which featured fellow young guns Sam Walker and Reece Walsh.

A product of Brisbane Boys College, Howarth stands 193cms and 105kg but endured a frustrating season last year with injury.

Hasn`t played a game of first grade and they sign him for five years. Incredible.

It’s widespread throughout all of Australia and I wouldn’t think the NRL and its players are immune from the societal acceptance of cocaine.

Australians consume more cocaine per capita than any other nationality despite being one of the most expensive nations to purchase the drug in.

DOLPHINS NEWS:

Wayne Bennett has secured another new signing for the Dolphins ahead of their introduction into the competition in 2023.

The NRL's newest franchise confirmed on Monday they'd secured the services of South Sydney Rabbitohs prop Mark Nicholls on a two-year contract.

The Rabbitohs agreed to release Nicholls from the final year of his deal at Redfern to enable him to join Bennett in Redcliffe next year.

This forum related ... honest...

In a media day held at the Millennium Stadium, home of Featherstone Rovers (in the Championship), the signings of Melbourne Storm halfback Ryley Jacks, Grand Slam winning prop Adam Cuthbertson (Cuthbertson played for the Manly Warringah Sea Eagles, Cronulla-Sutherland Sharks, St. George Illawarra Dragons and the Newcastle Knights in the NRL, and the Leeds Rhinos in the Super League) and prop Ben Mathiou (Mathiou, 26, has been playing in the Queensland Cup for Norths Devils) were confirmed. This will be in addition to signings Joey Leilua and Jesse Sene-Lefao.
