Storm have offered three 2020 debutants the chance to play for the club again next season after their finals win against the Eels on Saturday.

Chris Lewis, who has made five appearances, one try, three offloads and 94 tackles so far this year has been offered a two-year contract with the club as well as being promoted into the full time squad.

The 28-year-old back-rower, who is a qualified school teacher, relocated from the Sunshine Coast Falcons in order to pursue his development contract with the Storm at the start of pre-season.

He made his debut with the Storm against South Sydney in round four at AAMI Park, playing five more games for the Storm this season.

Isaac Lumelume and Aaron Pene, who both joined the Storm during the 2019 season, have also be offered contracts that extend until the end of the 2021 season.

Lumelume, the Fijian Test winger who debuted against Manly in round 16, made three appearances, one try and 19 tackles this season, leaving him with a current 85.2% tackle efficiency and three games under his belt for the season.

Would you take Jimmy the Jet ?

I thought he might follow Bennett to the new Brisbane franchise. Bennett used to have a father figure type relationship with Darius Boyd, who went with Bennett to several clubs. Roberts proneness to injury could be an issue though.

I've been impressed with Chris Lewis. Alongside another late bloomer in Andrew Davey, they've both looked more than capable at this level

I thought Suaalii was a done deal, what's happened?

He or his ‘ people ‘ seem to have bought into his hype and are making all kinds of demands Souths won’t agree to . He is under contract until next year but it looks like his long term future won’t be at Redfearn as of now . The latest is The Roosters coming into the equation ... The reality as well is of course that under present rules he can’t play till late next season anyway

Off-contract players Jordan Kahu, Sean O’Sullivan, Richie Kennar and Issac Luke are expected to be released by the Broncos.

It's also thought Matt Lodge, Joe Ofahengaue and Jack Bird are not in the coach's plans for next season.

Parramatta's Michael Jennings has spoken out after the NRL handed the Eels star a provisional suspension under the league’s anti-doping policy.

“I am totally against any form of cheating in sport and am completely shocked to find myself in this position,”

Jennings was handed a provisional suspension from the NRL for breaching the league’s anti-doping policy, per Fox Sports.

The league handed Jennings the suspension on Saturday after the veteran returned a positive A-sample for Ligandrol and Ibutamoren, with both substances registered as prohibited under the World Anti-Doping Agency and the NRL’s anti-doping policy.

The 32-year-old was tested on September 21 and had his result returned on Friday, with the Eels star now banned from competing in any WADA complaint sport while the suspension takes place.

Jennings does have the option to be tested with a B-sample, but will miss Parramatta’s semi-final clash against South Sydney.

Thought Lodge might be retained for his experience. Ofahengaue has been really poor this year, he’s gone from being SOO rep to getting released in the space of a year. I always thought Bird was overrated when Brisbane took him on but feel for him because of his injuries. Hope he makes a full return next year.

Kahu will find a club and O’Sullivan has shown some promise too

That’s a good start by Kevvie . But the hard part is cutting players who are on contact - and big contracts . They’d need to sub Bird’s money you’d think to shift him

Eels have a clear out!

David Gower, Peni Terepo, Kane Evans, Jai Field, Stefano Utiokamanu, Andrew Davey, Rhys Davies, Jaeman Salmon, Brad Takairangi, Watson Heleta and Kyle Schneider all haven’t been offered new contracts for 2021.

Some decent players there. Takairangi is a very good player, he’d do well in SL. Forgot about Salmon, he’d be quite a catch too.

Terepo is another forgotten man who’d do a job
