The suggested number is $1mill/year for 6 years. Cows definitely needed something. They weren't going anywhere with the squad they had this year.

Very true but I still think it’s a bit of a risk both for the length of contract and the value of it. It shows how desperate North Queensland are

Penrith have signed Cronulla utility Kurt Capewell, with the 26-year-old joining the club on a two-year deal.

Capewell debuted for the Sharks during their premiership-winning season in 2016, and went on to play 64 games for Cronulla over four years.

Handy pick up

Todd Greenberg has confirmed the golden point system may receive a shake-up next season with a competition point given to the losing team.

But Greenberg was adamant that the under fire golden point concept would not be scrapped, saying he was no fan of games finishing in a draw.

Michael Jennings is expected to sign a new two-year deal with Parramatta as early as Monday.

Quite a turnaround for Michael, really pleased for him. It looked like his career was heading for the oblivion like Uate but he’s dug in and deserves the new deal. He was excellent for Tonga recently too

Brisbane board member Darren Lockyer has confirmed to Nine News that Melbourne halfback Brodie Croft will join the Broncos on a three-year deal.

Croft has played 39 games for the Storm across his four-year career, and is set to be released from the Storm’s roster in order to join Brisbane.

“It’s been talked about for a little while now. It’s signed, sealed and delivered – Brodie is coming for three years and I think he’s going to be a great addition to the squad,” Lockyer told Nine News.

11 home games plus 1 game at Magic Weekend at Suncorp = Sharks complete quota of home games for the year.

I assume they are doing work at Caltex/Endeavour/Woolooware/Shark Park.

Souths' Salary Cap and Sam Burgess:

Greenberg has said the decision on Sam Burgess' sudden retirement and it's possible effect on the Rabbitohs' salary cap could be drawn out until after the new year.

They are looking at his medical history. Surgess had 3 years left on his contract when he made his retirement announcement.

Semi Radradra has poured cold water on reports that he is wanting to return to RL (NRL). He says his time in NRL is behind him and he still has a way to fo in RU. He has another year on his contract in Bordeaux.

Fortunately he has the huge brain of Anthony Mundine guiding him so Swinton and Rochdale are probably still a chance.
