Canberra bosses were unable to contact Curtis Scott following his arrest in Sydney because he allegedly threw his mobile phone at a passing car earlier in the night.

The Sydney Morning Herald reports Scott lost or broke his phone when throwing it at the car “just hours” before he was tasered and arrested by police in Moore Park.

As reported by foxsports.com.au the 22-year-old recruit is to return to Raiders HQ for training on Wednesday morning.

Scott has pleaded not guilty to all charges. Interesting development, perhaps it appears the police were overly aggressive in their actions.

Regardless, I’d still expect the NRL to stand him down

Interesting that in this case there doesn’t seem to be a rush to stand him down with the no fault rule.

Sharks young gun Bronson Xerri is set to test his value on the open market on November 1, according to Fox Sports’ James Hooper.

The 19-year old reportedly knocked back a five-year $2.5 million from Cronulla to focus on having a big season coming off shoulder surgery.

The Sharks’ mega offer was an attempt to blow NRL rivals out of the water. While Xerri is free to talk to other clubs, he cannot sign anywhere before November 1.

I don’t think that’s a mega offer , this kid has it all to be a superstar over that time

That's true david. But hes only had one out season. Do you not think they believe their own hype before they've done to much how many disappear  after one good season

Just read on a Facebook/ Storm related post that Josh Addo-Carr has decided he’ll stay at Stirm for 2030. Says he’ll do his best for the club and his team mates.

Now that’s what I call commitment

Apparently Manly are premiership contenders 2020:

Quote

With this roster at full health, the Manly Sea Eagles are a team that have high expectations for this upcoming season, which is why I have them finishing amongst the top four and evidently competing for the premiership.

Cooper Johns, son of Newcastle star Matthew, has turned several heads within the Melbourne Storm camp and is in the frame start the season in the No.7 jersey.

The 20-year-old has impressed over the pre-season and has found a new fan in teammate Josh Ado-Carr, with the winger highlighting Johns as one of the clubs standouts from their two week training camp in Geelong last month.

A likely choice for many Supercoach squads, David Fifita and his future is being talked over in the media.

Here seems to be the latest idea of what his immediate future in the game holds:

Rival clubs have given up on prying David Fifta out of Brisbane, with the Broncos set to re-sign the rising star, according to The Gold Coast Bulletin.

A number of other teams, including the Rabbitohs, Eels, Bulldogs and Warriors have been linked to the 19-year old, but will reportedly be forced to abort their plans.

Despite battling salary cap pressure, the Broncos are reportedly so confident of retaining Fifita that they are prepared to wait several months to free up the necessary funds to retain him.

Originally prepared to offer a five-year deal, it is believed that Brisbane could now table a two-year contract with option clauses worth around $750,000 a season, allowing them more flexibility.

Apart from spelling his surname wrong in there that seems right.

Souths are pretty much sorted out now with Arrow and Mitchell signing on for them.

Injury prone Josh Dugan is in the news again with rumours in the media about him not putting effort into pre-season training.

Josh Dugan has denied a report claiming his teammates have lost faith in him for an unimpressive pre-season, which has put his NRL future at the Sharks in doubt.

The Sharks will hold a meeting with Dugan’s agent Paul Sutton in the next 24 hours to discuss how to resolve issues with the former Australia star, including unconfirmed reports of a knee injury.

Fox Sports are reporting Dugan had missed training sessions over the pre-season and claimed his effort had been less than impressive, concerning coaches and teammates.

That should guarantee him a spot at a couple of club's over here who specialise in knackered antipodeans?
