South Trafford Raiders rise again!

Recommended Posts

STR held a pre season launch last Thursday were the 30 odd parents and children were kindly joined by Liam Hood and Alan Hunte from Salford RDs. Many thanks for their time, support and insight into professional rugby.

What started two years ago with c10 children is now looking more promising. Although largely dependent on children coming off season from local RU teams we now have a full u14 squad and enough for a development u13s team who aim to play a number of friendies over the season. We've even managed to get two sponsors for polo shirts and training kit.

Last year we started with five defeats - four where we were nilled - to bouncing six wins from the next seven. Whilst we won't win the league we aim to enjoy ourself this season!

Training 7-8pm BTH school Atrincham! Anyone interested very welcome !

would love to see a south manchester club grow! best of luck

absolutely nothing wrong with having some RU lads come across. every single one is an RL player when they take the field and no doubt many will come across as converts when they experience the sport!

In Bury or North Manchester? Interested in Rugby League? Check out the Rugby League in Bury web-site: http://www.pitchero.com/clubs/burybroncos/

That's excellent news, welcome back. I wondered where you had gone to!

As MMP says, there is nothing wrong with union players coming across, many of them won't have experienced league and once they try it, they'll want more.

It may be worth getting in touch with us as we've got something that you may be interested in. Are you in a league? Admin@wearemancunians.com

Thank you MC - will do. Yes we're in the NW u14 - first game next week. RL is now so popular in Altrincham after everything that happended last year that were looking to run and age group below.

I know it's not a heartland for Salford but the potential down here is amazing - and not Salford usual base - small acorn etc

45 in attendance - we now have enough players to run u12 and u13 teams in addition to the existing u14 team.

Fab fab fab - if Salford provide support they could have a beast on their hands here !
