I believe the stadium owners and the underwriters of the new stand (the council) would love the rugby club there.

A lease fee, food and drink sales, potential parking revenue, plus added marketing revenue (in stadium ads) and hospitality. Extra press coverage and potential tv exposure.

No one wants a dead asset for a third of a year.

It's well known "Latics" have struggled to finance the new stand. They want it and the stadium generating cash 12 months of the year. They won't ignore what's on their doorstep. This ship hasn't sailed, watch this space.

Just posing a question..

Given the new stand at latics holds 2,640 which is below the 3,000 minimum capacity outlined by the RFL..

would we need to say that one of the goal end stands would be availible? Whether its used or not?

The new stand plus rochdale rd end = 7240

The new stand plus chaddy end = 6394

OLDHAM RLFC

the 8TH most successful team in british RL

Surely this would be good for both clubs if the right agreement could be found. I actually like being so close to the pitch at Whitebank but the facilities are extremely poor and Boundary park seems the best possible option. Really hope it works out.

Viewing at Latics from opposite the new stand is excellent, you can get pretty close to the action at the front if you want but high in the stand is also good, Whitebank will then revert to what it always would be without any tangible investment ...a training facility really...

The big question is can Chris fund a step up to Boundary Park alongside the need for the team to be competitive IF promotion is won to the Championship?

If this is ever going to happen. 'Roughyeds' supporters need to go on a charm offensive.

Firstly dismissing the false asummption that a Rugby League game destroys the pitch. Not true. Rugby Union with their 250 stone scrums and mass rucks and mauls cause the pitch to rip-up. 'League' is less harmful to the pitch than football I would say.

Secondly if 'Roughyeds' were to be able to finance a long term lease, this would

benifit 'Latics' financially which means the possibility of better players.

http://www.manchestereveningnews.co.uk/sport/rugby-league/roughyeds-homeless-after-boundary-park-934556this MEN report from 2010 states the reason for our exclusion was down to the Latics manager and ssuggests that relationship between Hamilton and Corney is / was at least cordial. Could be B.S. but at least it's in print.
