Good chance that Rochdale town centre is going to flood again.

And again....

With the best, thats a good bit of PR, though I would say the Bedford team, theres, like, you know, 13 blokes who can get together at the weekend to have a game together, which doesnt point to expansion of the game. Point, yeah go on!

Estimates say it could cause over £15.00 worth of damage.

Project Fear.

I can confirm 30+ less sales for Scotland vs Italy at Workington, after this afternoons test purchase for the Tonga match, £7.50 is extremely reasonable, however a £2.50 'delivery' fee for a walk in purchase is beyond taking the mickey, good luck with that, it's cheaper on the telly.

I feel really sorry for the folk in Whaley Bridge.  It's a lovely village and it would be utterly destroyed if the dam bursts.  I do hope the obstinate few change their minds and leave their homes.  I can appreciate why they want to stay but they really are putting themselves and others at risk by not evacuating.  It must be a very frightening situation there at the moment, and potentially very sad.

Its horrendous.

Had some lovely sunshine and a bit of warmth today after what seems like almost constant rain this week gone which is unusual for the Northern Home counties, certainly the bit where I live. Bit sheltered by the Chilterns were a fair bit falls before it gets to us from the West so a bit of respite today was nice and even managed to get the laundry out before going for a plod around what were some still wet/damp country lanes on the bike.

Back to rain again this evening, feel sorry for the poor buggers in Doncaster, usual thing of Northern town.city being left to its own devices and up poop creek without a paddle!

Quite a lot of roads in and around Hull are flooded. A few of the main A roads are basically impassable apparently, some of the villages round here are getting cut off. Houses are starting to flood.

Earlier today I went past the lagoon down Middledyke Lane that forms part of the Cottingham and Orchard Park flood alleviation scheme. There's an absolutely enormous amount of water in it. Not difficult to imagine what it would have been like without that in place.

Headed to York about 6 from the Hull area , steady 45mph no problems , most drivers going steady . Heading back home , roads just about clear of standing water . Crash on the Beverley ring road , looked serious .
