antonie
Oldham Roughyeds (12th) – Newly promoted Oldham finally made the jump up to the Championship after years of playoff heartache in League 1. Finishing top of the third tier and winning the promotional final against Keighley Cougars made sure the usual late season syndrome didn’t occur again. However, the Roughyeds soon had problems to face including their ground at Whitebank and the loss of two key players in George Tyson and Adam Neal to Sheffield. They’ve now moved out of Whitebank and gone to Stalybridge Celtic’s Bower Fold. The signings, including former Halifax man Jack Spencer as well as winger Jamel Chisholm, will add to the Oldham squad but they will have to show a lot of fight to retain their place in the Championship. What does help the Roughyeds is that they have joined a league which is known for its unpredictability. The Championship newbies will be hoping they can add to that unpredictable nature. We are tipped to finish bottom of the league i think scott & the boys will have something to say about that. They will be up for the fight and hopefully we can stay up cant wait for the season to start up the yeds
The Art of Hand and Foot
Bookies, who I would say represent a better bet ☺ had us 4th from bottom. So I'm going for that.
roughyedspud
Didn't the bookies have us finishing 7-8th last season? Lol OLDHAM RLFC the 8TH most successful team in british RL
The Art of Hand and Foot
I think if we can get, either dual reg, loan or signed on, a couple of strong running props then we'll be fine. Look at last year, the team at end of the season wasn't completely the same as the one that started the season. The set up was dynamic, it changed and matured. moorside roughyed
I think just to stay up would be enough for most of us.Weve got to be realistic. Its going to be a long hard slog.
clifford
I think we are a little light in the prop department and that's where we will struggle
AL FALL
Don't worry Oldham will get some bashings from the big boys, scores in the 60s and 70s like we put on the weaker clubs last season and these scores come up in sl now and again remember. The thing is I think the coaches are top drawer and will address any issues that are put in front of them. Its a marathon not a sprint.
