Midlands League 2016

Recommended Posts

This year they've split the league into two regional divisions:

North

Boston Buccaneers

Buxton Bulls

Sherwood Wolf Hunt

Derby City

Nottingham Outlaws A

Leicester Storm A

South

Coventry Dragons

Telford Raiders

Leamington Royals

Northampton Demons

NEW Ravens

Birmingham Bulldogs

South Birmingham Hawks

Some teams I didn't realise played rl.Hope the competition is on reasonably solid foundations.

Most of the sides here are solid but Birmingham. NEW Ravens and Leicester A struggle at times to get a team out. South Birmingham are somewhat of an unknown. The top four sides in the south midlands are the top four across the midlands

Not sure of the full details of how the structure will work. This has solved the travelling issue but will the gap in standards be a bigger issue?

"Perfection is not attainable. But if we chase perfection, we can catch excellence."

"The quality of a person's life is in direct proportion to their commitment to excellence, regardless of their chosen field of endeavor."

There's no cross-conference games and teams in the north midlands divisions play two extra fixtures to make the numbers up to twelve. Not 100% on playoffs but think it was cross division semi finals and then a final

We are really pleased with the set up this year.

In previous years, admittedly a while ago now, we've travelled to Newcastle, Durham, Bristol, North Manchester and the lower Thames Valley so it's nice to see that in 2016 the furthest is Boston.

Which club is that with?

Think you will find the facts are that NEW ravens have only blobbed on 1 fixture in last 3 seasons its been other teams that blobbed on us last season hence 3 had 24 nil games and for 1 of those we hastly arranged on the friday night to travel to Sherwood to play as they had been let down as well for a merit fixture...Please get your facts right before saying we struggled to get a team out, if you meant 4 or 5 seasons ago would agree with you that we struggled to get a team out

I hope leagues such as Midlands and North East can expand to several divisions like the the Pennine League, NW league and Yorkshire. I'm not sure how realistic that is though

They've both had two divisions in the past but it didn't really work as the clubs at the bottom end of the premier division kept collapsing under the hammerings. I think getting 10 team leagues with 18 games has to be top priority
