Swindon St George 64-28 Forest Bulldogs

Swindon move top of Pool 2

Your views on the Forest of Dean side?

A good bunch of lads who when they have their full strength side are competitive. Although they had the numbers last night some of their better players were unavailable. Watching them you notice they are still a bunch of union guys playing league but it's their first season. They'll improve.

Thanks for that. The area is an old, former coal mining community and kind fits in with rugby league. In fact lads from Bream went 'North to places like Oldham in the distant past. Hope they can make a go of it. Allez the Bulldogs!

Final round of fixtures (Sat 6 Aug)

Portsmouth Navy Seahawks v Southampton Spitfires

Swindon St George v Bath & Wiltshire Romans

Somerset Vikings v Bristol Sonics

Forest Bulldogs v Gloucester Warriors

Cheltenham Phoenix v Oxford Cavaliers

Pool 1 is all sorted with Bristol and Pompey in the Playoffs and Oxford and Bath in the Plate. However Pool 2 hasn't been decided yet. Forest have qualified for the Plate while Cheltenham, Southampton and Swindon are still fighting for the playoffs. Cheltenham are top, level on points with Southampton while Swindon are just 1pt behind.

All to play for!

Forest Bulldogs 24-0 Gloucester Warriors

Audois, not exactly sure what happening with Gloucester. Hopefully it's just one of those seasons. Their coach of the last few years moved to Swindon because of his job and is now coaching us. He's done a great job!

Thanks for that.

Was involved with the Warriors in the early days of the RLC when they were Cheltenham Warriors. We hosted one of the early finals at the Prince of Wales Stadium  I think between South Norfolk-Crawley. Enjoyed that.

I wouldn't be too concerned re GW. Chris Wilson is the All Golds Media Manager and we discuss the plight of his club frequently! On September 6 Glos City Council will decide on the planning application for the All Golds new ground in Gloucester. If the go ahead is given professional RL will be able to be played their from 2018. Plans are already well advanced to ensure community RL is set for a strong and major role in Gloucester - whether it be all under the Golden Fern or a brand new entity.

The Grand Final was a cracking match! Disappointed with the loss but the lads played really well and we've had a great season. Maybe next season...

Just been interviewed on BBC Radio Gloucestershire about the match. Full coach of fans leaving Gloucester in the morning. Look out for the All Golds team signs on it at Wembley and the motorways etc. The greatest final since Wigan v Hunslet and Hull v Wigan? Quite likely.
