Dons News
We can confirm that second rower Mason Tonks suffered a fractured fibula in Sunday’s victory over Barrow Raiders.

Tonks had been in fine form for the Dons over recent weeks, instrumental in helping Doncaster record back to back wins in League 1.

The forward will now be expected to be missing for eight to ten weeks.

Speaking about the injury head coach Gary Thornton said: “It’s a massive disappointment to lose Mason after he has been playing so well week in week out.

“He has worked incredibly hard in pre-season to get back playing following major knee surgery at the end of last season, so to get another long term injury is a massive setback for the lad.

“He has been in great form and a huge part of our strategy going forward. His partnership with Jason Tali on the left was showing some promising signs of being a potent threat for our attack.

“I hope he has a speedy recovery and comes back even stronger. He’s done it before so hopefully he can do it again.”

Everyone at Doncaster Rugby League would like to wish Mason a quick recovery.
View the full article
