Rant thread

Recommended Posts

Now a real rant.

At great expense, you create a hugely popular TV show in full HD,  with a great panel,  amazing  contestants, world champion professional dancers with live music featuring great arrangements of great music by some of the best composers and lyricists the world had ever known.

How do that stupid, vapid, ignorant, thoughtless, gormless bunch of sheep known as the audience react? They ###### clap in time to the music so you can't hear a ###### thing.

STOP IT NOW, YOU IDIOTS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

CAN YOU HEAR ME YOU OAFS?

STOP IT NOW !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

On the Apple thing, I vowed never again after an experience I had with them a while back.

The Internet was down in the house and I needed to print a boarding pass off. I downloaded it onto my iPhone but physically couldn't get it from my iPhone to my laptop. I tried everything and I'm not a novice with technology. They just wouldn't let me do it.

Over the years I've often used my phone as a makeshift memory key and even though it was a minor thing it told me everything I needed to know about the way apple worked. It's the same if you buy music on their devices, good luck playing it on anything non-apple.

While I'm talking mobile phones, Samsung Autocorrect. Literally the worst thing I've ever used.

Cars wise, I really have to point out the Runcorn Bridge. Disruption is to be expected with the building of the second bridge and there are many roadworks on both sides.

Since about Christmas, the old Ditton roundabout was shut and they had a major set of diversions and roadworks to get over from the Widnes bridge. Despite this, once you got on the bridge it was quite smooth sailing.

About a month ago they opened the shiny new system that will replace the old roundabout and it's bedlam on both sides. Coming from Widnes now involves numerous sets of traffic lights and coming from Runcorn now involves a large queue once you've crossed the bridge as well as before.

I could cope knowing that it is temporary and IF it results in a much easier flow of traffic once the second bridge is open in 2017. However, they've recently announced that the old bridge will be closed for a year for repainting and I have zero confidence that the new bridge will mean easy passage on its own.

2nd lane drivers wind me up. But what is worse, is when they fail to drive at a constant speed. You edge out to overtake, they speed up. You edge back in, they slow down. Eventually, an opportunity presents itself to take over safely and they look at you like you are some sort of idiot. Then, in your wing mirror, you see them manoeuvre dangerously back into the 1st lane (presumably for a change of scenery) into the path of an artic, to be blinded by the full beam treatment.

Pfft.

Oh, and whilst I am at it; old people pontificating to others about manners, when they are the rudest going.

People who don't eat flesh, Vegans, Vegetarians etc., what the heck are the farmers supposed to do with the animals? Keep them as pets?

If the Veggies took over the world, do they think animals would be better treated, or would there be a boost in the underground meat sales market, and if there was, how well would those animals be treated.

Bog Off Veggies, let the humane beings eat what we want, and reproduce, while you eat granola, salads, bulgar wheat, and go to the gym, drinking nothing stronger than sparkling water rather than have a life.

My Brother and his wife follow the above rules, and their 11 year old is smaller than my 7 year old.

I love veggie/vegans, mainly because I work for a vegetarian food wholesaler

Was a result of a heated argument. I said go over Dartford crossing and round M25. She says Sat Nav is the way to go. Fine, we'll rely on your sat nav I said. Which then took us bang through the centre of London. Apart from driving at a snails pace, its mayhem. Literally lanes just ignored and people sailing in front of me. I gave the horn a good old work out at least. And she paid the congestion charge and has to drive home as punishment. :)

Was this Friday just gone?

I was on the M25. There's a reasonable chance your way was quicker. At one point I covered 7 miles in 90 minutes.

Halloween ###### everywhere.

Why are we supposed to give a toss?

Lots of fireworks on Friday night, last night and now tonight. Don't they get that bonfire night is NEXT weekend?

A number will be for Diwali.  Diwali ends tonight I think.

With the best, thats a good bit of PR, though I would say the Bedford team, theres, like, you know, 13 blokes who can get together at the weekend to have a game together, which doesnt point to expansion of the game. Point, yeah go on!

There's another reason people let fireworks off, in Bradford anyway.

Whats the special reason in Bradford?

Diwali?

I will mention the Hindu Festival of Light if none of you want to admit to acknowledge there is a non Yorkshire community living within your streets.

Err no that's not what Johnoco was on about

Yeh, but they don't celebrate it once a week with a delivery of goodies thrown from an accelerating white Vauxhall Astra. Keep up.
