York RLFC go under but who's to blame?

An announcement on the York website makes very sad reading for all rugby league people but do the RFL and Super League clubs give a damn? Probably not as outside SL you're treated worst than second class citizens by the people who REALLY run our game, Sky TV, who simply couldn't care less. THEY have none at all, shame that is.

Disgraceful the knights where on the up playing wise so why the hell anyone connected with the City of York could let this happen beggar's belief, and it looks like the RFL are going to turn a blind eye to it all at grass routes level while concentrating on promoting a new club thousands of miles away in Canada shame on you all I say. The amount of money York City Council rakes in from tourism alone would pay for a new stadium each for both the soccer team and the Knights but the committee don't seem to care a jot about the people who elected them in the first place .

The RFL are not "promoting" a club in Canada. They are "promoting" themselves.

Correct maybe but they don't (and won't) give a toss for historic (heartlands) clubs like York (and Bramley). Instead they would much rather go out of their way bending over backwards trying to 'promote', call it what you like, new clubs in areas without any interest in the game (and never will be).
