Until someone at the organisation starts to display some real leadership and management skills, these incidents will continue. Far too much 'jobs for the boys' practice throughout the sport. I would hope there would be an investigation to all this and it made public as to whats going on. I would hope that the RFL would not keep it in house but would use people from outside the sport so nothing is covered up. Such incidents should not be happening and the RFL have a duty to make sure that any employee found abusing others in any way is kicked out and not allowed to have anything to do with the Sport again. There will not be any investigation, it will just disappear as this lot are untouchable and they know it. At least until the RFL grow a pair. He is the most hated ref at Perpignan since that Huddersfield game, he was atrocious. I think he's hated in Widnes too for the same reason. Even disallowed 2 perfectly good tries that the bulls players were embarassed about. Nevertheless batley went on the get into the qualifiers the week after 'Shaw cross juniors, Birkenshaw, Mirfield, Heckmondwike Panthers, Stainland Stags and then the Heavy woolen donkeys... gogledd Posted January 16, 2017 Share Posted January 16, 2017 I witnessed Joe Cobb give one of the worst refereeing performances ever at a North Wales Crusaders game a few seasons back, however I have seen him give decent performances once he was promoted to Super League but he was prone to howlers Whatever we feel about his performances as a referee he should never be subject to bullying and homophobia by his employers. If this is endemic as suggested by some of the posts above then this goes against the whole "Respect" ethos of treating everyone equally no mater what their age, race gender, gender orientation, faith or sexual orientation. The RFL must treat the allegations seriously and ensure all players referees ,officials directors, managers, employees and volunteers can be involved in Rugby League without prejudice. If what is reported is true, then someone at the RFL should be suspended immediately. And suspect Joe Cobb will have some solid evidence given his profession.
