Town v haven reaction

if they lose at home in their next "this is a more of a must win game than the last must win game " against town then they are in serious trouble regarding gate figures as their next home game is likely to be against toronto and a further hammering will see a big loss of numbers through the gates .

Mostly all been said but thought Coward looked really up for it, hope that continues, and looking forward to the next time I see that neat little offload to Callum and great to see Forber back the pace hes always had. Some real cause for optimism out there once all those errors get minimised!

If town sort their discipline out they will win at the rec I'd expect chamberlain to come into that side with mcauley added to the pack .. possibly Joseph on the bench ? But they will have to go well in training to get the shirts off the guys who played today . One thing for sure 1 team will be bouncing for the game in a fortnight and the other will be dreading it

David, you have just posted the exact sentiments i was going to post. OMG what a cracking bunch of young players we have playing with obvious pride in the shirt, it was a joy to watch. haven got away lightly it could have been a route if Hicks hadn't repeatedly pick backed them up the field, it was the only way they were going to make progress.

Watching Calver't's antics was worth the admission price alone, he needs to ditch that cushion he has stuffed up his shirt, and a big shout out to haircut 100 who was probably the only haven fan from a pathetic following who was still standing his ground after the final whistle. I'm not even bothered if they turn us over next time we meet because today was priceless, the second most expensive squad in the division hammered (yes hammered) by a bunch of talented and committed kids...........There is a god UP THE TOWN

Well said that man,oh and it was a larl bit cheaper to get in than twickers.

Calvert wants to think about calling it a day, his game is based on pace he no longer has. While his antics to the popular side were entertaining, but apart from playing the victim trying to milk pens he didn't do anything. His experience will mean he will still score a few tries but he's a shadow of the player he was.

The race is not always to the swift nor the battle to the strong, but thats the way to bet!

Fantastic player, now back at Wath Brow which will be a huge boost to the large number of young lads coming into both open age teams.

On the coaching staff now at the Brow, their A team had a great win at the weekend against  Oldham St Anne's in barla national cup, it was a very very young Brow team with only 3 or 4 players over the age of 19 playing.

TBF this is an isolated comment from a haven fan but honestly you couldn't make it up.

-------------------------------------------------'

"players we have should be good enough to mount a huge promotion challenge yet we lost a game yesterday against a team that would struggle against our 3 conference teams"

Don't agree with the first part, but If a Brow/Kells could field their strongest 17  they would be a handful for both Town & Haven, they would certainly score a few points against Havens defence at the minute.

Point is though davo your man is saying town would struggle against conf teams and haven should be going for  a huge promotion push. Not sure what game he was watching

Got to agree ( even as a Haven fan ) whatever shirt he pulled  he gave it his all and played through the pain barrier when he shouldn't have been on the pitch. He can only be good for the whole RL game by passing on his experience to the youngsters.

Haven won't be pushing for much with Crooks and Roper as their half backs, they were rhubarb!

Looking at these forums this looks like one of the few things we can agree on !!!

On both sides of the "Distington divide " we have a multitude of fans with differing ideas and points of view. Some are dyed in the wool club whatever happens, some look at both sides and some look at the bigger picture. We need them all if semi pro RL is to survive in W. Cumbria. Appreciate all of them and long live the banter.  Up the Haven  / up the a Town / up rugby.
