Both Swindon St George teams have made it to Finals Day on Saturday 12 August after Forest and Bristol have pulled out.

Plate final
1pm SSG A vs Bath/Gloucester 

Grand final

Good also to see Gloucester Warriors win the Plate. First West Country club out of the blocks - what near 20 years back?

1998 was their first season (then they were Cheltenham Warriors) but there loads of West Country clubs from about 1984 to 1992. Cheltenham were the first in 1983 I think

Yes Cheltenham to start with then Gloucester Warriors in year three crossing over the M5 to play at Chosen Hill RUFC - celebrating their 20th successive campaign hopefully next year - a record?

The West of England held a origin-style trial game on Sunday for selection for the West of England Lionhearts to contest the Harry Jepson Trophy this autumn.

The Harry Jepson Trophy begins with a game against the best of the London League on the weekend of 2nd-3rd September.
