24 Mar: SL: Huddersfield Giants v Leeds Rhinos KO 8pm

Recommended Posts

Deserved win for Leeds. Hudds started very slowly.

The first half contained some entertainment. A lot of the second half was dire, with many sets ended by ball dropped in the tackle.

Daniel Brough's actions leading to the sin binning let the team down.

Nope

The score entirely flatters Leeds, who deserved the win yes but by 2 points at best

Giants still lacking fluidity in attack but slowly getting there, way better than last season

5 tries to 2 says different pal

Was surprisingly comfortable win for Leeds - bar the two silly errors which led to Giants tries we seemed in full control imo

Just reinforces the standard of SL is utterly bobbins. Leeds in 3rd place...lol!!

Just hate this kind of comment...knocking the teams, knocking the game!

sounds like a sour comment from someone with issues, agendas, unable to see virtue in the game..unable to enjoy rugby league for what it is...

most games tend towards average then we have great games and poor games...the nature of the beast isn't it?

Danny Brough faces a ban for being eye gouged by Ablett

###### joke

Your basing this on that still image going around?

The video footage clealy shows Ablett pushing Brough away after being smacked 3 or 4 times

Never a eye gouge in a million years

Again youve taken the still shot, not the video

if youre so bothered dig out the video and you'll see he's clearly pushed him away - its in the face but its never ever an eye gouge

Sums it up that Brough was the only one called up to RFL panel for the 'fight'

Ablett got under his skin big style, he does every time we play Giants. You'd that thought Brough would have worked out how to deal with it by now

Whether it is a still shot or a video, it shows clear contact with a players face which "should face (pardon the pun) punishment"

Not defending either player in their actions, but both should be up against the disciplinary committee.

He did face punishment, he got a yellow card. Which given the fact Brough had smashed him in head 3 times at that point is punishment enough for me

he's allowed to defend himself, he took 3 or 4 proper shots before he did anything back

Brough couldn't reach that high to hit him in the face!!  (and he also has the weight of the team on his shoulders!!)

Brough faces a ban for repeatedly punching Ablett.

As Moc has stated he pushed him away, yes, his hand is in his face but the fingers aren't in his eyes.

Hence no charge for gouging.

Makes a change from blaming the ref!

I expect the usual response!

Thank you for your valuable contribution.

The man who retaliates is always the man who cops it, everyone knows that but not everyone can resist whatever was done to them, Not that Ablett would have done anything of course, It's just other players seem to like to hit him, apparently for no reason, and he seems happy to take the shots.

Dont expect anything from a pig but a grunt

Every team has a "wind up" player. To pretend otherwise is at best ridiculous.

Oh i agree with you, and Ablett is obviously one of the best, It's just you don't see many who take as many punches as him, still he must think it's worth it, so Hey Ho.

I think the sin binning was sufficient punishment for Uncle Ablett's face time with Brough.

Brough threw a few punches hence the disciplinary. I don't think that is unfair.

It was less a case of Albert and the lion, and more a case of Prince Ablett poking billy goat Brough to get a reaction...
