Halifax Easter Monday night

Well then... gutted, really could have pulled off a result tonight. The lads did us proud, especially our defence which was absolutely amazing throughout the game. Stand out performances from Neal and Langers. The standard of refereeing was questionable yet again... Halifax's second try was a forward pass, penalty when Oldham player on the floor and gets ball intentionally thrown at him, Neal's yellow card for high tackle and the touch judge giving a drop out when Clay was clearly pushed, were a few of the officials' lowlights.

Halifax there for the taking tonight.Strange team selection - no Lippy,George,Grimmer or Hewitt. Scott Turner and Adam Clay immense but Tuoyo had a bit of a nightmare unfortunately.

Between the 20 metre lines there are few better teams in this league, and,in general our defence is pretty sound on our own line.Still a problem creating clear-cut openings in the opposition's 20,relying too much on our short-kicking game

.Can anyone explain why Gaz Owen was picked at scrum-half when he's not merited a place anywhere on current form?

Langers,Wardy and Mikey Wood were the pick of the forwards, who,on the whole, held more than their own. Again, effort could not be faulted, but another 2-point defeat. With a back-line of Scott,Adam,George,Grimmer or Gilly and Lippy,I'm sure we would have had more of a cutting edge.

Missed kicks cost us in the end, but, loathe as I am to criticise Nobby, team selection I feel that he missed a trick tonight.

There is no doubt in my mind the officials lost us the game. It will be interesting to know what the penalty count was and more so what Naylor will say tomorrow.

The effort the lads put in tonight was unbelievable. They didn't deserve to lose.

Sadly, not taking an easy two points when we got a penalty cost us a point and not having an old head in the side to calm things down and so take the right option when near to the line. Just trying to smash our way over isn't going to work because the opposition know what we are going to do.

Nevertheless, I can't see us having a problem staying up with performances like that one - well done the Yeds and the Yed Army!!!

Agree the ref was very poor , Fax player deliberately throws the ball at a grounded Oldham player and gets the penalty(thought that was supposed to have been stamped out)and should have been a penalty to Oldham.Questionable decisions all game for both sides summed up by the Fax kick into touch near the end, bounced over the sideline,no Oldham player anywhere near and he signals Fax ball before changing his mind haha. Clueless.

Thanks Dave,spot on that.

The linesman's decision that Adam touched the ball ,giving them the drop out which they subsequently scored from is disgraceful. The lino is on the spot and can't see the ball clearly hit the touchline before Adam touched it? Absolute joke.

Not the only reason we lost but a big factor in it. Decisions like that mar the game for me.

On the plus side another solid performance from the lads.
