BroncoFan
Admittedly only highlights but from what I have seen of the St Helens youth tour to Australia so far, two 16yo's Josh Simm & Jack Welsby look absolutely fantastic prospects. OMEGA
James Batchelor at Wakefield is only 19 and looks like he could become something really special as a second rower Luke Hooly (19) also at Wakefield has every chance to develop into a class Full Back or stand off in the Matt Moylan mould Will Oakes (former Wakefield Academy) but now at HKR is another big prospect

burnleywelsh
Herbie Farnworth continuing his development in Norths Devils 1st team. Scoring the try to change the game. Bit of a setback though with a recurrence of a hand injury. https://northsdevilsrlfc.com/2018/04/28/devils-dig-deep-to-beat-tigers/#more-2284
BroncoFan
The England Academy team to play Australian Schoolboys later this year will be interesting, i can't remember the last time there was so many good wingers under the age of 18. There is the Senior twins & Dominic Young at Huddersfield, Lewis Carr at Castleford is killing it, Ryan Butterworth is a good finisher at the Bulls then there is the athletic Reece Hamlett at Wigan. Everything under the sun is in tune But the sun is eclipsed by the moon
ghost crayfish
England seems to be producing a lot of good wingers at the moment. For the sake of England's senior national team though, perhaps some of these young guns could be playing at fullback or centre?

It's kind of the bigger issue in the Academies. Full of big guys in front and speedy guys in the backs but very rarely do we see world class passes. Yeah that's what I mean. The youth rep sides are where the most talented players should be learning those skills. I think it's poor youth development to have the best talent specialising on the wing. There's plenty of time for them to move there later. In Australia most of the best young NRL wingers came through youth sides playing fullback, centre or even second row. They tend only to shift out to the wing once they break into the NRL.

Good wingers or good athletes? More and more so I’m seeing good ‘athletes’ in SL but with poor skill levels and defensive reading of the game. The Senior twins maybe able to finish but they looked like a fish out of water trying to defend/take high balls under pressure etc. The Aussie schoolboys will ruthlessly expose this. I’m not meaning to pick on the twins who are very young and I hope develop into excellent players, it is more a growing observation on what we see in SL. It makes me cringe when I hear about the likes of Josh Griffin being considered for an England call up. He may have some attacking prowess but this is offset against defensive (reading) deficiencies and ball skills. If this is the best we have then the talent pool is sparse. But more so there seems to a growing trend to pick and groom ‘athletes’ at the expense of core skills. I think Jon Wilkin commented on this not long ago. Perhaps it’s a wider coaching issue. Anyway, if you’re mentioning wingers for the England Academy, you’ve missed out perhaps the best currently at the age group in Harry Newman

No I didn't miss Harry Newman, he is an outstanding centre and would be the first player picked.
