Fryston beat Siddal's winter team in the Yorkshire cup, who was in pennine division 4, you certainly didn't beat the ncl team

I think you will find siddal had 10 of there 1st team regulars in the side which played but hey still not good enough in anyone's eyes as we are fryston just a pub team

At the end of the day, there is more to being a top amateur club than just having 13 good players, obviously Fryston fall short in a few areas hence their failure to gain acceptance into the NCL,so they will continue to be a big fish in a puddle.

Come on fans lets just give both teams respect for been in the final and as for fryston been a pub team it dont say much for keighly who they should of beat and as for todays game if they won this would they still be labled a pub team?

Good luck to both teams.

The winner will be deemed the best in the country ,competition open to every team .Like somebody said you have to be in it to win it .

The final is a great occasion for everyone involved in the two clubs especially the hard working backroom staff. Some great teams have their names on the trophy so make the best of it ,it might not happen again.

Fryston Warriors 10 v 37 Hunslet Club Parkside ft.......

Fryston let themselfs down today with discipline once again ,  2 sent off and 2 sin bins and also had an extra player on at one stage , Old Boys did'nt bite and stuck to their game plan . A final run by BARLA  and only 2 balls , play was stopped for 10 mins due to no rugby balls , MOM was Jamie Fields , closely pushed by Craig McShane (fullback).....

Two isn't a few it's a couple but neither are 10 which is a lot.

Think it shows when their coach came on here and debated well and talked about their preparation, then descended into being a bit argumentative. While they keep getting red cards and sin bins in every single game they arent trouncing people in people will always be of the same opinion no matter how much they try defend themselves. Well done to Hunslet for not getting dragged down, supposed lesser quality teams not littered with ex pros and trying to intimidate have pushed you closer in the conference league over last couple of years. Think that is testimony to the quality we have in the conference league. I'm sure with the players they have Fryston would be a force in the NCL too (with the right infrastructure of course), its just this us against the world mentality they need to lose and start giving people a different opinion. Although I think over last few years too much damage has been done to change peoples thoughs

On the Barla site it gives the result as 10 v 39 , but everyone was saying it was 10 v 37 , i was willing to give Fryston the chance that their coach was saying that they'd changed , but after yesterdays display , nothings changed in my mind , still the same club who live in the 1970's style of pub rugby .....

Wrong .That's your opinion, past winners have beaten NCL teams in the past .NCL cup is not open to teams from outside NCL.

Like the F.A, Cup in football it is narrowed down to the winner from hundreds of clubs .

Fryston didnt do themselves any favours yesterday with there disipling and its mad to think that all of there players have played ncl level or even higher and now there season over most will go play ncl but as long as there playing pennine league rugby nothing will change cos it is just pub rugby and that showed yesterday just like to say a big well done to hunslet there a top team

Does that mean who ever wins the Challenge Cup is the best team in the Country ? Or is the winner of the Grand Final the best team in  the country?

But hundreds don't enter though, just a couple of dozen Yorkshire teams and a few other pub and 2nd teams.so to say the winner is the best team in the country is rediculous.

He's not said the NCL cup he's said the Grand Final. Just like in the pro game, Grand Final winners are the champions. Challenge Cup winners are just Cup winners

Got to say I have been involvèd in 3 BARLA National cup finals over the last 36 years. Once as a youth player and twice as a open age committee member, I  can honestly say the best memories of my involvement in rugby league !!!!!!! A crying shame that the competition is reduced to nothing more than a RL sideshow. No disrespect to all current teams involved but the RFL and the NCL should hang there head in shame. By the way lost them all but will remember them forever.

1st I meant hundreds of  clubs enter the F.A. cup, useing that as a example in other words Arsenal are deemed the best football club in the country because they beat all comers.

2ND It doesn't matter who enters the national cup,the eventual winners are the ones deemed to be  the best team in the country because it is open to all the amateur clubs .

You pick the winners of the ncl grand final as being the best team in the country ,how many teams in the play offs? And you can loose a game on the way and still win it .

Its a insult to all the past winners of the BARLA national cup ,the sponsor's, the people who have run barla competition's,including county cups, trips abroad and over the years produced pro clubs with their players to say a few pub teams and 2nd teams enter the competition.Probably the top ncl clubs don't enter is because it will be a extra pay day for their players?.

Same  applies here Challenge cup eventual winners are deemed  best team of the season.Used to be open to every club now just a select few.Who were the best before the grand finals?

By the way Eddie Howe was declared the worlds stongest  man for 2017 this weekend ..

Not my  personal opinion though, but he cant help it he just took on what was infront of him

It's ridiculous to say that the National Cup is anything other than the Pennine Presidents Cup in disguise.

The Cup has died a death. This is a great shame, as less than 10 years ago I can remember every NCL club entering and being given a good run for their money by Sharlston, Queens, Halton Simms Cross, Bank Quay Bulls, Drighlington and the rest.

The winter comp was still healthy even then. Now, the NCL has absorbed the best run and organised winter teams and this has led to the likes of Fryston kicking their heels out in the cold. YML won't take them, NCL never would. So they coast through the final days of the Pennine League whilst entering whatever broader competitions they can in order to pretend they're a force.

They brought shame in the sport in the Challenge Cup game against Keighley

Their indiscipline cost them on Saturday.

They are nothing but a side of washed up thugs who will be back picking on Lindley Swifts in September.

And I was at the Siddal game, and it was their third team.
