I've been a singer in various bands

Best gig was a pub come brothel in Glasgow in the late sixties entertaining American nuclear sub crews. It could and did get extremely lairy

Last outfit was a blues duo playing the sweatiest pubs in leeds: best venue the grove. Guitar player got more or less permanently ill(i disagree with him but he is determined) so decided to learn guitar to accompany myself.

Use a fender princeton 65 and a small valve amp

Play a squier telecaster, epihone blueshawk, epiphone parlour guitar and a Yamaha electric acoustic that I would recommend to Robin Evans if he's after one.

I'm shi ite but I'm getting there and I intend to play in public before I go ga ga

This was from a competition on a guitar site (2008?) limited to 1 min 30 secs, so I didn't finish the tune. I won and gave the prize - some kind of foot pedal to a newbie in the USA somewhere.

I squirm a lot in this one because the strap is the most uncomfortable one I've ever had

Here are some of the guitars. I also have a CIJ Tele and 3 Strats.

I have a dean hardtail electric and an Alan black acoustic. Dont play in a band or anything, not good enough for that but I like arsing around with little riffs, arpeggios on them, particularly in different tunings (currently liking the Celtic DADGAD style at the moment) and sort of send myself into a mini hypnosis by discovering loops I like...sometime I hit on something nice but the next day I always forget what I've done

What amp do you use?

For recording I use an old Laney LX12 - probably the best $70 amp ever, IMO. I also have a Farfisa 100W piano accordion amp which I use for getting loud. It's an mid 60s model made in Italy.

" I Want To Be Loved " was on the B side of " Come On" , The Rolling Stones first single.

I'd started learning to play when I was younger, then I had an industrial accident were I lost the use of my left hand index finger ( I'm right handed ). In some ways it would have been better if I had lost it completely because I can't really use it but it gets in the way.

I've got myself a " Fender " Gemini acoustic from a pal a year or two but I can't build up the enthusiasm to start again.

I remember going watching " The Undertakers "  ( Jackie Lomax's old band ) a few years back and I noticed the rhythm guitarist only had three fingers on his left hand also but he seemed to play pretty good.

One day I'll start again.

I used to go and see them regularly. Jackie Lomax used to come over from California and sit in with them. They were a great live band, they always kicked off with " Matchbox " by Carl Perkins. That got the room bouncing. Jackie died a couple of years ago as did Geoff Nugent the three fingered guitarist. They also had a tremendous sax player called Brian Jones. He's still going strong.
