Yes ... a nightmare scenario .......  costs go up massively and no away support to offset  .... no atmosphere .... lets just hope Catalans find a way to stay up!!

Quite ironic really as the plan was to make Super league the shop window to a world wide audience !!!   Now It looks as though it might well be the Championship ..... with Super league stuck on the M62 corridor!!   Maybe  we need an urgent restructure!!!

We're living in a world of permanent restructure in the rugby league. I know we are were we are but the move to Super League has been a failure for me.

With the RFL, it's anyone's guess how next season's leagues will pan out in reality.  And much guessing there has been on league restructuring over recent months, especially influenced by the Bradford saga - resolved (for now).  There are rumours that League 1 could split regionally into 2 Conferences next season and another that a major league reorganisation will occur in 2019!  Also, Swinton is facing yet another Winding-up Petition (23/8) from the HMRC, which will not be heard until 25 Sept.

Certainly, the Championship, with 4 full-time clubs and the travel costs, financially and physically, will be a huge challenge for the lesser experienced part-time players/clubs.  In the absence of any rich benefactors, perhaps more evenly centrally allocated ££ for the part-timers to help address the balance?  Another rumour/perhaps confusion, was that Bradford could get £150k (the same as the lowest 2 Championship clubs) when relegated.  Some rescaling of ££ for those in the Championship would have to follow.

For now, I hope that Hornets will win their next 2 home games and secure a place in Championship 2018, with exciting challenges and better sponsoring opportunities, etc to build for a better future - Onwards Hornets.

Bradford will get £75k in C1 just like the rest - their chairman had it wrong. The potential presence of Catalans, Toulouse and Toronto would certainly create some issues (London isn't really far you know, even from Rochdale; and one of the Cumbrian clubs might also get promoted) as well as having a significant impact upon travelling support.

It will be interesting to know what impact this might have upon projected turnover and, hence, salary cap for the lesser clubs.

Sport, amongst other things, is a dream-world offering escape from harsh reality and the disturbing prospect of change.

No change next season in Super League - "we (the RFL) now have clarity for the 2018 season and time to consider a variety of options for future years."!   Hopefully, we shall start winning Sunday and be in the best position for whatever (if anything) comes next for 2018 in the Championship/League 1.  We remember well 2014 restructuring and being 1 of 5 teams relegated to L1. With talk of new clubs (no doubt full-time & well-funded) from New York, Montreal and Dublin, hopefully the RFL will have better clarity and give more time on how to better integrate them with part timers.
