Scott - solid as always but goal kicking was exceptional.

Maher - our best forward and made some good yards

Ainscough - thought he caught and returned very well.

Alistair Leak. Great in attac and defence organised things well playing out of position and 2 tries

James Harrison   I thought he was really good today tackled everything and went forward well

Dave Scott.   Good as always at the back but also kicked well at sticks and out of hand

1. Alistair Leek - exploited the gaps well and attacked the line with his trickery to great effect.

2. James Harrison - Played with purpose, aggression, and impact.

3. Dave Scott - His usual reliable performance under the ball, combined with good attacking link up and some impressive conversions that added points at important stages in the game.

Matt Diskin deserves some plaudits for getting an excellent all round performance from his re-formed team today, where some of this season's fringe players stood up to be counted with some impressive displays, and as a team we were aggressive in the tackle and purposeful and fluent in attack. I am sure that Kieran Cunningham enjoyed the game today as an entertaining spectacle, like the majority of spectators who were present.

Keiran Cunningham was there because his son plays for Sheffield

I said on another thread that those coming in couldn't really be classed as 2nd string and so it proved. However, getting that performance out of the team positionally was in my opinion one of, If not, the best of the season. Can't look past Leak for an all round organisational game without mentioning 3 tries! Scotty exhibited another string to his bow with great goal-kicking, Cowling put in a centre and second rower performance in one. How we've got through the season without his superb tackling is testament to the team's improvement since Bash.
