whilst I don't necessarily disagree, again, wouldn't an actual discussion on policy show him up more than insults.

Possibly so, but I don't regard them as insults, just facts.  He was described the other day as a sociopath.  Isn't that someone who's unhinged?

I can't say that the International Investment Position is something I know much about, but my understanding of it is that it's the total external assets and liabilities, including both public and private debt in the liabilities and similarly public and private assets. According to the ONS: "UK assets fell by £60.9 billion to £10,642.6 billion in Quarter 2 2017. UK external liabilities dropped £29.6 billion in Quarter 2 2017 to £10,743.8 billion.." With that in mind, this revision doesn't quite have the significance it would if it was incorrectly being compared to GDP, for example - while still not good news. The fall in FDI is potentially more worrying.

However, as has already been stated, had Corbyn (or any other Labour leader) been in charge these figures would be portrayed in the Tory press as disastrous.  And the country would be gong the same way as Greece (see 2010)

I’m not sure. A more relevant question might be, are there ever circumstances having a sociopath in charge would be more beneficial than having a pacifist in charge?

that though is getting well off topic :-)

Actually the ONS has said the technical adjustment in has made on how it reports the figures have resulted in the lower amount over the last 30 years

So it seems Labour have lost as much down the sofa as the Torys..

I don't think the world of discourse, rhetoric and ideas has suffered too great a loss because of your reticence

The Govt aren't bothered about Brexit, they just want to get it over and done with. You can sense the impatience now. They aren't bothered because every one of them has so much wealth themselves or within the family for the consequences not to matter. And then if Brexit does start to impact them, then the money and assets are moved elsewhere, as we are seeing. It does not matter whether its a quarter or half of the country's GDP that is being shipped out of the country, rock all will be done about it. Free market and de-regulation rules.

Beyond being in the Telegraph, I’ve seen this nowhere else and the media are just not covering it. Am I missing something?  We’ve gone from being a relatively asset wealthy nation to one with negative equity in the blink of an eye. A revision from the OBR has turned us into a premium lender’s trouble customer rather than a sure bet.

How can this NOT be big news?

Who controls the media ?
