Bedford Roughyed
500 people were injured or killed in Las Vegas and not a single law changed. With the best, thats a good bit of PR, though I would say the Bedford team, theres, like, you know, 13 blokes who can get together at the weekend to have a game together, which doesnt point to expansion of the game. Point, yeah go on!

tim2
I've stopped arguing that Americans should change their gun laws - they clearly don't want to. Hence I care less about these events than I should - if it happened in some third world country we'd barely hear about it. I wouldn't travel to the USA if I didn't have to do so for work. There are enough Americans carrying guns in public (over 3 million) and enough gun owners and a ridiculously large amount of firearms that the kind of sweeping changes they need cannot happen, regardless of the politicians' links to the industry. Tongs ya bas
Presumably after thoughts and prayers the NRA will be saying that if the congregation had gone to church tooled up everything would have been ok.

moorside roughyed
It's starting to become a regular occurrence now, nothing will change with regards to the lunatic gun laws over there. I feel for the poor people who were just going to church and minding their own business. There are some real lunatics in the world.
Robin Evans
I'm not even sure someone taking half the Senate out would even cause even the smallest ripples amongst those wanting to retain current firearms access in the states. gingerjon
They obviously need more prayers in church and more guns in Texas. IS are really going to have to up their game if they want to kill as many Americans as the NRA. Build a man a fire, and he'll be warm for a day. Mark S
It’s a mental health issue! Of course it is, but how can people with these issues get their hands of guns so easily?

But even if people with mental health problems were prevented from buying guns, it probably wouldn't have prevented Stephen Paddock from being able to slaughter 58 people in Las Vegas. We still haven't seen a definitive explanation of what his motive was in that case.

Griff9of13
This Twitter thread goes some way to explain why things won't be changing any time soon. American politics is bent, plain and simple. The Future is League
A terrible thing to say but even if one of trumps own family was killed by a white man he wouldn't change his mind because of his love for the NRA.
