20 years Storm Anniversary

Recommended Posts

Dont know if others saw it via Social Media but was great to hear some of the Stories of the Club and battles it faced. How important the Culture and family has been for the Players and club. Great to see and hear from  the likes of John Ribot, Tawera Nikau, Matt Geyer, Glenn Lazarus, Marcus Bai etc. You can see even now how important the club is to these and others like Brett Finch, Brett White, Cam Smith, Billy Slater etc. The team of 20 years is 1. Slater  2.Bai 3. Chambers 4. King 5. Vunivalu. 6. Inglis 7. Cronk 8. Bromwich 9. C Smith 10. Lazarus 11. Hoffman 12. Kearney 13 Johnson 14. Geyer 15. Nikau 16. Kearns 17 Crocker with Craig Bellamy as Coach. Thats not a bad team, especially with the likes of Folau, Scott Hill, Howe, Ross, Korobete, Craig Smith etc missing.

Yes I saw it via Facebook.

John Ribot and Glen Lazarus were great.

Glen is so funny if a bit raw. He’d not have got away with some of his expressions and language that he used here in something broadcast without somebody creating a fuss.

The film montages were excellent.

All contributions to the success of the club in the first 20 years were acknowledged with many positives expressed for the club going forward into the next 20 years.

So well done to all the players who made the list or were nominated.

The team was picked by a six-man panel comprised of Storm coach Craig Bellamy, chief executive Dave Donaghy, football director Frank Ponissi, club founder and inaugural CEO John Ribot, inaugural assistant coach Greg Brentnall and former coach turned Fairfax media columnist Roy Masters.

The criteria for selections was contributions on and off the field, legacy at the club, success/premierships and accomplishments in a Storm jersey.
