Great posts from the "sing when your winning" cas poster.

It’s actually a bit surreal isn’t it? From the depths of despair to world beaters in the space of twenty minutes, and then the forecast of relentless world domination when their pack of Demi-gods step forth.

The best bit is that they just don’t seem to realise they are doing it.

Bouncing back from What?

Saints sell out every good Friday....

Cas have actually beat Leeds before...

Don't get the relevance of your post.

Crikey everyone's so highly strung on here.

Anyway, the general talk over the last two years has been stagnating crowds, born from apathy of fans - and cited largely due to to too many games against the same teams and too many structure changes.

Well the attempted Super League record break which still posted Leeds highest ever home SL crowd, and Saints selling out a week in advance when normally it would be a day or so before, is showing some good signs to contradict those theories.

and we're all aware Castleford have beaten leads before - so this wasn't relevant to the point.

as mentioned on another thread maybe any changes to the sctructire now would hinder a true test as to whether it is becoming successful now people are more used to it, the effect she of which we are just starting to see? Maybe not - but it's possible

Well I was going to post that I was incredibly relieved to win that in the end.

I was going to post that I was mesmerised by an absolutely fantastic advert for our game

I was going to post that the young Leeds lads are a joy to watch

I as going to post that the first 20 minutes was sublime from Cas

However, I won't as I'll somehow have a chip on my shoulder, remind somebody of why they were chuffed that we choked in the grand final and give the predictable Jim a post to lay down his ridiculous prejudices towards all Cas fans

Oh well, what a lovely family game we have

Now then, it's a race between Sandie....and Fairburn....and the little man is in........yeees he's in.

I, just like those Castleford supporters felt that the ball should have gone to David Plange but he put the bit betwen his teeth...and it was a try

Kevin Ward - best player I have ever seen

The real Mick Gledhill is what you see on here, a Bradford fan ........, but deep down knows that Bradford are just not good enough to challenge the likes of Leeds & St Helens.

You can't please everybody all of the time....:D

I couldn't watch the game last night as I was at the KC but a mate who doesn't care much for Leeds did see it and sent me a text after 20 mins saying "This is better than watching porn".

With Halloween coming up I decided to go to my local fancy dress shop to see if I could get a Dracula costume. After a few minutes the assistant handed me a Hull KR shirt asking "Is this suitable?", I replied "I think you may have misheard me, I said I wanted to look like a count."

not all of you ,but some had to run the gauntlet of 'why have you bothered to turn up ? 9 in a row .66-10' and all the strutting . most clubs endured it . Even poor Jordan Lilley has had it on here .

Tough to call this.

Leeds must be slight favourites but either way it's a game I'm looking forward to watching late tonight, if I roll in from Warrington in a good mood.

I rolled in miserable so watched it this morning instead.

What a great game.  That Jack Walker kid is just phenomenal and you just want him to get the ball as much as poss and be the one tidying up at the back.

Leeds need a better goal kicker.

This world was never meant for one as beautiful as me.

Ain’t going to apologise for being happy at beating that lot. In their own back yard in front of a record crowd. Even better seeing Macs interview this morning.

please don't try of course its not in your DNA and it wouldn't be "YOU LOT" if you tried. Its a pity really Cas were really being applauded by all last year for the great stuff they were playing until the follically challenged strutting spilled over onto the fans and poor Jordan Lilley too ,no need for it

Great match last night. Even though Cas were on the back foot for the last 50 minutes, the win shouldn't be underestimated. Not many sides go to Leeds and win. As proven last year, the manner of the win whether it's by 1 or 56 points doesn't really make a great deal of difference at this stage of the season.

Cas are sneaking under the radar somewhat. 4 wins out of 5, with 1 defeat in a match that they lose every single year. They look a good bet for a top 4 spot again, and maybe without the pressure of being pressure they may have just as good of a shot this year.

Nothing to worry about for Leeds though. They outscored Cas and probably should have won it, with a very inexperienced bench. If you put Leeds at full strength, I'd back them as the favourites at this stage.

Jim's here! As per, moaning about Cas fans positivity on a Cas Match thread in which Cas beat the reigning SL champions - despite a very disrupted start to the season and concern going into the game regards form and injuries.

By the way, why should Cas fans, on a Cas Match thread, not big up the potential of their pack?  You do make yourself sound very silly and bitter at times.

Largely agree, certainly the way Leeds dominated for so long will be a worry when we next meet.

Although, I've heard a few comments about the players Leeds had missing.  By my reckoning thats:  Cuthbertson (big loss), Ward (big loss), Keinhorst (good player, better than Handley), Garbutt  (loss), Sutcliffe (not as good as Keinhorst), Ferres (usually a liability these days)

I make that 4 1st 17 players (and Ferres) and a couple of squad players.

Cas were without Shenton, Eden, Wardle, JSL, Holmes, Watts (that's 6 first 17 players).  We also lost Massey and Webster to injuries during the match.

Personally I think Cas have more to back into the side than Leeds do at full strength (Subjective of course)

The "moaning about Cas fans" was a reaction to a Cas fan complaining that a Leeds home game, where Leeds were trying to set a record attendance, wasn't being dominated by coverage of Cas. Nothing to do with whether they deserved to win or not or whether Cas fans should be positive or not. FWIW, Cas deserved to win but I'd be comfortable backing Leeds if we meet in September or October time.

Leeds lack of forwards strength enabled Cas to dominant the tackle, making huge yards. Much the same as Saints last week. Difference being Cas took advantage and early on Leeds necessary line defence couldn't stop an excellent Cas, although they managed better 2nd half.

It seemed to me as well as the big yards Cas forwards made, they also 9 times out of 10 put Leeds on their back in the the tackle, thus slowing Leeds down. Cas totally dominated the tackle prior to last 10/20 for the most part.

The first 15 to 20 mins Cas were excellent and obviously that's were the game was won. Great come back by Leeds but Cas rather than shutting up shop and kicking to corners to ensure win stayed with the "free flowing" attacking which gave Leeds a chance to come back.  Good to see a entertaining game but pragmatically as I say they could have just kept banging the ball to the corners.

Leeds need to get their bigger forwards back otherwise as per the last few games it will be desperate line and 10 yard defence, which is overall poor defence. That is having the opposition kicking from around the half way line through solid outer field defence rather than the desperate line defence they seem to be getting practice of.

Well worth our monies worth, and hats off the Cas for that first 20 mins or so of breathtaking attacking.

Also, forgot to say earlier...I thought Chris Kendall handled a big, and at times volatile match very well. We're always quick to criticise, so it's right to praise when referees do well.

Yes, spot on. Some of the players tried to take advantage of their expectation of him to be nervous and pliable but he soon put them straight.

I'm a genuine neutral - don't follow or hate either side - and thought that it was a great advert for RL; I even thought that the commentators were decent (now shoot me down in flames). In the live action I thought that both Watkins and Hall's efforts weren't tries but the video showed that both were, yet by the tiniest of margins. In a non-TV match I suspect that both would have been disallowed.

Really exciting stuff though - more please.

Good 50 minutes from a young Leeds side. Terrible first 30 minutes. Shouldnt have been in it after that, very encouraging that we were.

Handley is good going forward but his positioning in defence is all over the place (not surprising really) and it destroys our whole defensive structure on that side. Briscoe has become a target and we give away a ridiculous amount of penalties, tries and errors from kicks to that side.

The ruck in Super League is an absolute mess. I watched wests v brisbane earlier on friday and the penalty that won the game for Brisbane could have been given every tackle in this game. Markers were rarely square, there were often 3/4 players in the ruck at the play the ball, sometimes we were seeing 3 markers with another laid in the ruck. With NRL refs we would have seen a hundred penalties.

It was SL, not NRL.

How does the Premier League compare with Serie A?

Every media going bigging Leeds up for the record. There were hoardes of Cas fans there. Literally in every stand and every row. But Leeds got the record. Nothing to do with the travelling support. But sky sports love in with Leeds never mentioned that when I watched it back. Now saying Saints have sold out. Not that saints and WIGAN have sold out. Takes 2 to tango. Rant over.

Im not sure why some Cas fans seem to have this huge chip on their shoulders. It was a Leeds home game, Leeds paid for the stadium and the marketing, if in the future Castleford pit in a big game at s big stadium and get 23,000 there they can take all the plaudits.

Anyway, the atmosphere was great as was the game, I don’t think Ive enjoyed a loss as much as that, i think after the first 30mins I was expecting a drubbing so to see a depleted side bounce back and dominate the next 60minutes was pleasing. And yes before the cas fans say anything I know Cas were missing a few as well.
