A bit late in the day, I thought there was already a shortlist.

Haven't heard anything from the club about this, never even been mentioned in conversation with other fans.

Usual ignorant comments from the footie fans, all they see is £££££££

No mention of this on the Calon FM rugby league show tonight, which makes me wonder if the club are involved at all, and we are only listed among those who are "also backing" the bid in the article:-

Wrexham Council will lead the bid alongside the Racecourse’s Wrexham AFC and Glyndwr University whilst the North Wales Crusaders, Rugby Wales, Ian Lucas, MP, Lesley Griffiths, AM, the Ramada Plaza and Grosvenor Pulford are also going to be backing the bid.

Forgive my ignorance but, who are "Rugby Wales"?

Brian Wake one of our Directors was the instigator of the World Cup bid but the peole who have to make the bid are the council and the venue owners.I suspect that Rugby Wales is just sloppy journalism and should be Wales Rugby League

...and its not too late in the day - bids have to be submitted by August 2018.

For info - I am looking to get backing for a bid for a Wheelchair RL game - the RLWC2021 will feature mens, womens and wheelchair RL playing during the same World Cup period - with Flintshire CC at Deeside Leisure Centre.

Just read through those comments. Not sure if I want Wrexham to win a bid because I love Rugby League and my town----or dont want it because of the attitude of knuckle-draggers that support WFC.

Thanks for the response, I had no idea that Brian was behind the idea. We'll just have to wait and see how it goes, nothing lost in trying.

Hope the wheelchair bid is successful.

Like all politicians, the local fellas keep all the headlines for themselves and don't credit the actual people who came forward with the idea,

Re: Wheelchair game - its worth a punt. The Celtic Cup showed what we can do - and we can improve on that even - but I thinkthe hall is just that bit too small
