Challenge Cup

Recommended Posts

In a break from league action for clubs outside the top tier, it was knockout time as the Challenge Cup rolled into action.

Leigh Miners Rangers, finalists in 2016, got their campaign off to a perfect start as they picked up a ruthless 54-4 win at Whitley Bay Barbarians, while Stanningley beat local rivals East Leeds 32-14.

Widnes Vikings also progressed to the next round, as Hull FC picked up their first-ever competitive win: Cassey Lawton bagged four tries as they overcame Oulton Raidettes 26-22 on home turf.
