Truly horrendous day . My dads been ill with cancer for nearly two years and passed this morning after an indescribable  last few weeks . Anyone who’s been through it will know how cruel it is . Still in shock at present , however much you await it it makes no difference

Can I add my condolences you and your family and friends, gather together and remember the good times.

Exactly what we’re doing . Sadness and a lot of laughs from great memories .

I know this is an awful time for you, amidst everything remember to take some time for yourself, don’t try to be strong or any of that stuff. It’s ok to not be ok.

I feel for you David. I know it come's to all of us at some time.

You just take the time you need. I know advice doesn't always help, and it's often the last thing you need, so I won't give any.

You take care mate.

I'm just off to a meeting, the local lot have organised it in the church.  I wonder if they'll be saying a prayer for the outcome of this evening's meeting where there's expected to be a lot of shouting and not very nice things said to each other.

This evening’s meeting was in a very deprived part of London.  I parked in a large multi-storey car park, one that I always use when I’m there.  I now get why it’s usually got plenty of spaces near the end of the day.  I got back there about 9pm, the central stairwell was being used as an overnight spot for a number of homeless folk, the edge stairwell I used had a guy jacking himself off in the corner of the ground floor and the floor where I parked had a guy standing in a parking bay injecting himself with the stereotypical tourniquet and injection technique of certain illicit drugs.

I live in my little bubble in safe, rural Suffolk and just don’t see things like this. Even when I worked in London before, it was in central London with its City safety and overt City of London presence compared to the Met Police’s gross underinvestment meaning they have no capacity to do anything about it.

A fairly sobering experience.

When even the life threatening situations of the past are nowhere near as scary as the completely irrational fear of dentists and having to have mouth surgery, the last thing you want to hear him say is “I’m just going to extend this incision...”

Tonight, I have been trying to concentrate on a web chat thing at the same time as playing a game called Hearts of Iron IV.  I'm currently playing as the Germans trying to conquer the world at the same time as discussing the patient benefits of a more joined-up NHS.

It's not working too well as I caught myself thinking of how I could get that division of Panzers working with our local hospital.

A pretty extreme way of dealing with health inequalities!

There’s a decent police presence at Ipswich station just now. Hmmm. Never good for the inner paranoid in me wondering what’s going on.

I broke a tooth 2 weeks ago and didn't do anything about it, but the pain got worse and worse, eventually I gave in and registered with a Dentist for the first time in 35 years.

It was about 20 for me, took moving to another country and an insistent new missus. ?

Good luck!

Stupid Bleeping question.

You all know by now that Swinton were supplying England with players while your team were in nappies, so how do I change it to something more irritating, and newer? I've been on my profile & can't find a change signature icon.

Ah! You've fallen into the backstop trap and cannot unilaterally change your signature. You need the agreement of all members of the forum to extricate yourself. You could try appealing to the Speaker, aka John Drake, but I wouldn't build up my hopes if I were you.

Dear diary, I’m still in the pub.

With the best, thats a good bit of PR, though I would say the Bedford team, theres, like, you know, 13 blokes who can get together at the weekend to have a game together, which doesnt point to expansion of the game. Point, yeah go on!

Mrs Shadow and I had a night out in That London last night, got home at 1.30 am.

Bit of  a mistake doing it on a school night but RHLSTP  records on a monday night so little choice.

Sadly I'm not in  my twenties  so today may be a struggle.
