Dave Naylor Posted June 7, 2018 Share Posted June 7, 2018 THE funeral service for the late Eric Fitzsimons, former Oldham RLFC player and coach, will be at St Patrick’s RC Church, Oldham with Father Phil Sumner on Tuesday, June 26 at 10.15am. Eric, who was also well known in the town as a teacher at Failsworth High and for his work with the Oldham Schools’ RL, used to be an altar boy at St Pat’s. After the service at St Pat’s it will be down to Oldham Crematorium and then back to Oldham RUFC at Manor Park, a club with which Eric also had close associations. Donations please to Lewy Body Dementia. Before taking up rugby league and playing for Oldham and Hunslet, Eric played football for Bury, Oldham Athletic, Hyde United and Bradford Park Avenue.
