I know they are a necessary evil but those shiny jacket numpties need to get their priorities sorted and stop insulting the South Stand dwellers....... How many times / games are we going to see the South Stand over populated with these plastic police when not one of them can be seen amongst the Beaumont Terrace people -- usually the 'away' fans???? Heaven only knows how much they cost, but it's All Dewsbury's Money (ADM) We (the game) didn't need these muppets for a hundred years and we don't need them now ......

They cost two grand per game. Big Mark told the audience last Thursday. One bloke asked him about volunteers like what Batley have, but the big fella was having none of it.

Because Kirklees would revoke our licence. If you know better I'm sure he would be interested to know.

There is a simple solution. Stop effing and jeffing and the stewards won't bother you. Pointing at the Fev fans and saying that they are worse is a sorry excuse, don't you think?

If you were in the South Stand at the time you would know what I mean.

I was in the South Stand at the time BSJ............. however, I thought you were referring to something in the topic content.

I'm not condoning everything that goes on in the South Stand, (as previous posts will testify) but I do find it insulting that there is a constant ADM presence there whilst the area behind the sticks, which for FEV and FAX was largely populated by 'away' fans, remains largely devoid of ADM's trademark Shiny Yellow Jackets................. I'm not saying that FAX or FEV fans were in any way a problem, but can anyone from ADM actually state that there was NO behaviour there that mirrored what happened in the South Stand ??

My argument would be that they could NOT because they simply weren't there..............bar the solitary figure up in the far corner, far enough away I would suggest to have no real idea of what was going on............ the assumption seems to be, on ADM's behalf, that the South Stand will provide them with something to justify their existence................

To be fair the 'pony tail' did a cracking job............. very impressive 'calm down' gestures to one of the more vociferous ladies ?

Fans have a fair few problems with the stewards.. I have myself had a go about unjust actions they have took.

No stewards were on station at the kick off, stewards seem only interested in policing home fans, and on Sunday there was extremely low number if any policing the beaumont stand, Batley under the leadership of their chief steward do they're home matches and always have.. I find it strange that we had to switch to a contractor, when Batley didn't, same league, same rules, same competition.

Personally I thought the new stewards were brought in to cut down shall we say "a difference in figures"

I think that this situation needs to be addressed by Tony scargill and clarified with kirklees regarding.. How Batley and dewsbury are been treated differently.

Big difference us spending £1500 a match, compared with Batley's £300 per game.

As I understand it the reason the steward's came over was because the touch judge brought it to their attention because of the abuse he was taking. Whilst we are on why was certain supporters abusing the fev physio every time they came on the field? It was very warm on the field so I don't blame players going down just to take liquid on board, you weren't exactly dying of thirst where you?

MS did explain this Coolie. We have negotiated with Kirklees and they will not budge. If some people want Batley to be in a worse situation yet not improve ours then this would be terribly small-minded, don't you think?

Not sure what the players are paid but would the £1200 saved on stewarding per match

pay for a couple of Anthony Thackerays?

I can't imagine that MS has thought about this. He is incredibly naive, isn't he?

When we only get around 800 people attending then those stewarding costs seem pretty extreme.

Especially when the stewards are only interested in people’s big toes infringing on the yellow lines and little else.

............. And today's special mention goes to Number 53 who had the temerity to retort "look at the scoreboard pal" when involved in a 'discussion' with a Dewsbury supporter who chose to shout a bit too loudly in the first half.......... Tut Tut sir  (but like you I didn't realise we were paying these numpties to actually watch the game)................. Nice appearance though by the 'black tie' supremoes, much more imposing than our little 'pony tail' friend (conspicuous in his absence today)............ They say you can't beat a good looking woman, but it looked like someone had..........................

All Dewsbury's Money going to waste again.......................

These three (and there was another just out of shot) were marshalling all 7 of us at the quiet end of the south stand.  Very hard to fathom and definitely money down the drain.  They were working hard though as you can see.

The worst I've seen it was at the 2000 trans-pennine Cup final played our stadium, our stewards had been phased out in favour of a security firm called "showsec" the trouble was instigated by a group of Leigh fans, fighting broke out, the police were called, its the only time I've seen police dogs on the southstand, and hopefully be the last, trouble started when showsec didn't handle a situation well and it spiraled out of control, fortunately me & Adrian farrow had been assigned car park to take money, and we were stood at the tunnel position watching it all kick off, Adrian turned to me and said "are we going in?" I replied "nar showsec can sort it" eventually we did go over I had a few words with the Leigh fans I knew and it calmed down.. Tell you what police dogs are a liability.. They'll f%%#@£g bite anybody

theyre school yard bullies who only say stuff to people who dont say anything back no need for as many as there are when was the last time there was big trouble at one of our games widnes around 2000 time?

if those bullies hadent a been around for fax game a few weeks back you might a been in bother, same group a fans stood in front a fax fans at back a sticks with 10 minutes to go forking them and wanting to fight em all, they had walked from south stand and must a forgot the gate at back maybe but were escorted out to save it all kicking off,  even before toronto game kicked off those same fans were falling out with them selves and stewards had to come in and sort it, the dewsbury fan i was sat with said its always the same few so if he knows and i seen it too why do the stewards get blame for doing there job, if you go to enjoy a family day out and a decent game you wont even know the stewards are around, days are gone of sticking an high vis on and getting your £15 for day to be told to push people around if theres a scuffle. you simply cant do it with the h&s. takes a lot for me to stick up for stewards but have read this now for days and you need to look around. games bad enough crowd wise without all the effin and jeffin before a games even kicked off and you can hear them at this side a pitch sat in stands. just enjoy yer games while we still can and am sure you will see less of the stewards.

Good points Silverback and no one can argue..

My issue was more around where they were stood and how many were needed..

When there were literally no more than 20 people at my end of the South Stand I couldn't fathom why we had four stewrds close by and another just further down.  Not least as nearly all the away fans were on the open Terrace.

Gotta av em but how many and where should they be?
