My issue was more around where they were stood and how many were needed..

When there were literally no more than 20 people at my end of the South Stand I couldn't fathom why we had four stewrds close by and another just further down.  Not least as nearly all the away fans were on the open Terrace.

not too sure falla, but to be honest thats the very area those same few fans seem to stand every game, i know theres fans in most clubs who get a bit ott but its the very same 3 people who during our games over 10 years or more like to walk past and give the vs and want to fight the world, boxing day 2 years since backfired a bit as a few fans dident count to 10, not good to see when theres the little uns around. if we know who they are and you only need to look at a few highlight clips of your game to see the stewards in and amongst your fans,then am quite sure dews fans and officials know who they are year on year, maybe a 3 strikes and yer out for a season and that might kerb some a the bother that starts even while players are warming up at times, no need for none of it at all but last few seasons its just getting worse,

not too sure but if the stewards wernt around who knows,i always liked it years ago when the stewards was also fans of the club so just who to keep an eye on and things seemed to work well, just looked bad and the fax fans just ignored them anyways and it were a good turnout from them too. club might a got in bother as its them same 2 or 3 every time for years so others must know them,
