Barba - back on compassionate grounds?

Recommended Posts

It’s important Saints don’t let hunger for success get in the way of compassion.   Hopefully they’ll see sense and let him go before the end of the season as it’s the right thing to do.

Yours Sincerely,

Super League Table teams 2 to 4.

Strange that the article indicates his Wife is homesick, after McManus said they were perfectly happy at St Helens.  He really can’t say any different, but the NRL piece indicates she wants home.

matter of a short time before an announcement imo.

Saints should hold his rego until he fulfils his contract. I’m sick of Aussies backing out of deals when something better comes up.

He is a druggo anyway and has to serve a ban if he does come back to the NRL.

The article is in direct contradiction to what the club and people around the periphery of the club are saying; the NRL attempt to destabilise the situation perhaps? I do expect him to leave at the end of the season though.

He’s already served it.

Your righto, its frustrato for English clubs to savo players careers, then when they get some formio they then claim the home sicko card and get back into the bigo time.

Is this the 'NRL', or is it the 'NRL News Media' which is I believe supposed to now be a separate organisation from the official ruling body.

(The possible, nay inevitable, consequences of this bizarre separation appears somewhat problematical)

Why are people willing to believe an article written several thousand miles away is actually true? The view from the town itself is that he is quite happy and might even sign a longer contract.

That's the spirit. And we will the World Cup!

Incredible that the official NRL website would publish an article that is baseless. And that's a nice way of putting it, malicious is probably more accurate.

Barba may well leave at the end of the year, but his wife's alleged homesickness is not the reason. She wants to stay, particularly as she thinks their kids have great educational opportunities here (no obvious jokes please...)

Barba' s kids are also by all accounts enjoying being part of the community, settling in to the Saints junior cheerleading squad.

And rumours suggest that an improved, longer contract may be on the table for Barba at Saints, so we may hear something soon..

Have you got a link to that?

Did you formally post as o o Antonio?

Denied by McManus again, must be getting fed up by now. Barba has said time and time again that a decision will be made at the end of the season.

Smacks of the NRL and their clubs trying to unsettle a player they want to get back (given it's on the NRL website). In a way it's a good sign that clearly money isn't the main motivation for Barba otherwise it'd be done and dusted by now.

Awesome if he stays, but if he goes back then he's been a great addition to SL while he's been here.
