Just looking ahead to next weeks fixtures and it’s clear there are some big games, especially in the Championship with top 4 places up for grabs.  Therefore is it fair to have games kicking off on different dates / times? By the time we get to Sunday the likes of Halifax as an example will know exactly what is needed to get in the 4. 

Just like in the Premier League a final day Sunday 3pm should be the schedule in my opinion.

It isn't fair that different games have varying kick off times. However, does the final day

But they have five teams in six conferences. Not comparable to any traditional league system in the UK.

Personally don't think it matters. League positions are determined over 23 games not 1. 

As for this "knowing what they have to do" nonsense, both Toulouse and London know that a win guarantees a top 4 place regardless of when other games are played.

It matters when league position can be determined on the final day.

I think it’s a bit late to do anything  about this season but there’s nothing to stop the fixtures being arranged so that TWP are always in Europe for their last league game in future.

It's gone on since well before Super League. Do you seriously think the game could afford missing out on tv revenue from games at different times. FIFA World Cup was no different. The important thing is that the higher placed team plays after the lower one so placing matter.

I remember both Halifax and Wigan's game in the 1985/86 season kicking off at the same time. Both sides could win the Championship on the last day but Halifax only needed a point and their opponents Featherstone only needed a point to relegate York. As a young kid I used to time the halves on my stopwatch (fancy digital thing 25 metres waterproof). Let's just say at 13-all on the scoreboard the second half at Thrum Hall never made it anywhere near 40 minutes ?

So you can kick off at the same time but it doesn't guarantee anything.

Do the opposite. Sell 'The Final Round' and try and get all 12 games from SL and the championship on tv games on from Tuesday to Monday with 4 games Saturday and 3 Sunday. Some creative scheduling can guarantee us some big and interesting games, finish the season with a bang and set up the playoffs nicely.

You’ve never heard of showing two games on two channels (or the red button) then?

Toronto kick off at 6.30pm UK time this weekend so that's not really an obstacle as long as it was all done with plenty of notice.

Toronto - as per comments above then either schedule them away or just have kick off time that align across continents.

Football World Cup - if I recall correctly the final group games did kick off at the same time. So FIFA do follow this approach.

Premier League - they show multiple games across their channels - if anything it enhances the audience because of the potential drama unfolding with outcomes changing.

C'est la vie.

League position isn't ONLY determined on the last day but by the previous rounds as well.

If you're relying on other results to secure your position then that's down to how you've played in previous rounds and not just what happens on last day.

If those results go against you then tough.

Surely the big difference is that in professional soccer leagues, the probability of a draw is quite high, and coaches can - and do -  contrive to play a system that looks to secure such a result.  In RL, such probability is very low.  Nobody - Scubby's amusing Thrum Hall anecdote notwithstanding - plays for a draw in rugby. 

So, no, I wouldn't start all the last round games at the same time; rather, string out the entertainment, and maximise revenue from both spectators at matches and those watching live coverage on TV, and allow some folk to be able to do both.

Not saying that but where others get Home advantage on the final day, there’s is always lost because of their location.
