Wales RL U16's v Scotland RL U16's - Match Report

Recommended Posts

Ireland have no team, last year the Welsh squad played Ireland U17's, that team has now pushed through to the U19's team that will be playing in the European Championships in Serbia next week. France cannot play in August and wanted earlier dates in July but it would mean the Welsh players having to get time off school to play, so that was not an option.

Scotland contacted Wales for the game and it went from there, next fixture is Wales v England in Llanelli at Stebonheath Park, Saturday 1st September, kick off 1.00pm.

Thanks, would be good to see the Welsh test themselves against the French though. It can surely get scheduled at some point in the season.

Do Ireland not have a new team at u16/17 level?

Obviously a different group of players but didn't Wales U16 beat England U16 just last year?

Yes they did 18-10 in Cardiff

Some of the players from last year who were U15's have remained in this years squad and a strong cohort of U15's from 2018 have also joined them.

England will be turning out a full U16's team this year on the 1st September, whereas Wales RL will be a mix of U15's and U16's.

Wales should be very competitive.
