I do chuckle at the apparent stress induced by a four-hour coach trip. The coach trip from Manchester to Hull must be, what, a couple of hours? Couple of extra sandwiches should do the trick. Sell it to a chain of pubs and get them offering breakfasts and lunches and drinks offers. Get Sky to give help to the community club houses on how to keep the lads in after the Saturday games. Well, its currently all in a state of change..last year they allowed supermarkets to sell wine and beer but at a slightly higher price than the government store...Walmart is in soon but the price must be higher to protect the monopoly. All hard liquor can only be sold at the LCBO stores (Liquor Control Board of Ontario). Beer is sold at a controlled consortium of brewers outlets called the Beer Store. You see, thats why the TWP went with the new craft brewers which have become quite popular since they can sell on site (but under tight control). The Beer Store doesn't like selling craft beers since they are controlled by the big guys and only push their own products. Booze is literally everywhere here, from corner shops to petrol stations and super markets and everywhere inbetween. In fact it's harder to find a shop that doesn't sell booze. Each province and territory in Canada has its own system...no booze to be sold in the territory of Nunavut period, and you are not allowed to bring any in either! The US has a system more like yours. You can buy beer in the corner stores in Quebec and you can buy unopened cases of beer from the bars in B.C. Its a crazy world sometimes...off to the bush soon. You have to purchase a special license from the LCBO (government store) to sell there, the Man always gets his cut. If they did not have the license permit they would be shutdown in no time!. Everyone who has a wedding or event where there is alcohol MUST buy such a permit (and when you buy the booze for the event the LCBO must see the valid permit, then charges you more than the regular price for the average consumer). Halls/sites won't rent out to you if you are planning to have alcohol without a valid permit or they will be shut down by the cops (permanently). Going into the Bush now for awhile.
