In a deal announced on Saturday it was revealed that the Tigers would play four games out of the new stadium, which is also the full-time base for the Parramatta Eels and A-League team the Western Sydney Wanderers.

The move comes as the NSW government prepares ANZ Stadium for its redevelopment.

It also follows Friday’s announcement that the Wests Tigers have committed to play three games at both Campbelltown Sports Stadium and Leichhardt Oval in 2019 and at least three the following season.

Last I heard:

The revised funding for ANZ Stadium provides for a budget of $810 million refurbishment of ANZ Stadium into a 70,000-seat rectangular venue that will bring 46,000 fans closer to the action, rather than a knockdown-rebuild of the stadium at Sydney Olympic Park. The works are scheduled to begin late 2019 and be completed by 2021.”

What are the issues with the stadium? That’s a lot of money to spend on a stadium that was only built 18 years ago. Is that a reduction in capacity then, because isn’t it 80 odd thousand at the moment?

I’ve visited it but never seen a match there

If you can get to ANZ, you can get to Parra. ANZ is Olympic Park station which, for Campbelltonians, is 2 stations further than Parra. For anyone coming from the East, it's the same train, just don't get off and change at Lidcombe.

During the week I was reading an interview with Cleary he stated that Wests Tigers had played their opening five home fixtures at 5 different venues! His personal preference was for them to play at Leichhardt.

Poverty exists not because we cannot feed the poor but because we cannot satisfy the rich.

Much as everybody likes to whine about ANZ, Wests get their best crowds there. Playing at Parra should go well. Older fans may even remember when the Sydney Tigers - Balmain's failed re-branding - played at Parra stadium.

Oh yes, the old rebranding of teams during and post SL War. IIRC:

Sydney Tigers

Sydney Bulldogs

Sydney City Roosters (pretty much remains)

The Sharks (no location)
