Congrats to Leeds.
Now at the top of the table.. do you have much to play for next week?
As a Toronto supporter, I am hoping not. ?

what if toronto beat leeds 32-0 next wk.they will overtake leeds on points difference

Ya, I guess there's that.
I'm just predicting 31-0 though. One wouldn't want to seem cocky.

A win for Toulouse and London and a defeat for Toronto would more that likely see either TO or London promoted and a M.P.G game of one of those two at home against H.K.R. or Toronto.T.O. and H.K.R have identical points difference so a win for TO would put them above H.K.R. Whilst a decent win for London and a 15 point defeat fot Toronto will leave it finely balanced between them and H.K.R for 5th place.Leeds and Salford safe any two from four for the other places.

All of which confirms that there are only 9 at max SL quality teams in the competition.  The remaining 5 teams are playing musical chairs... bearing in mind Widnes were woefully out classed by everyone.

Or if the glass is half full, it means there are more than 12 SL 'quality' sides.

You could argue there are only about seven EPL 'quality' teams and the rest just fight to stay up, playing musical chairs. Perhaps the EPL should study the Ian Leneghan philosophy and drop to 12 teams. The difference they can easily afford 20 teams.

It takes wisdom to know when a discussion has run its course.

It takes reasonableness to end that discussion.

Well isn't that the point, there are 20 clubs in the Premiership and 20odd in the EFL championship. And there are 16 in the NRL. We have at best 8.  As we keep saying, we are not creating quality players and certainly not for 14.

I'm really not sure of your point....................how many of the 20 Premier League clubs produce quality players - how many top players have come from the youth academy of Bournemouth, Burnley, Brighton, Huddersfield and even Newcastle? Those 5 clubs also have zero chance of winning the league so are really just there for the ride.

The likes of Parramatta, Gold Coast and Newcastle have been near the bottom for a few years now, you could argue they are not 'NRL quality'

Someone has to be bottom of a table.

16 NRL clubs are viable (making money and fans and junior clubs) and producing players. We could have 26 and call them superleague. Proves nothing. We barely viably cover 10.

The tv programme about codebreakers was revealing. Scores of players came from Wales. Not anymore, its a gap we have not filled.  Australia however are still creating them from New South Wales.

16 NRL clubs making money and fans really? Have you seen their finances and attendances? I suggest you have a closer look and also look into why the NRL has had to take over the running of certain clubs there

I think we would love to have the problems that the NRL have. And yes clubs have regularly either gone extinct or merged in Australia.

Australia has 20% of the  world's poker machines with a 0.5% of the world population. €23 billion is spent on gambling with €8 billions worth of alleged 'problem gamblers' (Nathan Hindmarsh?). 60cents of every gambling dollar goes into a poker machine.

Yes if the money tree or waterfall dries up, the the NRL (and the AFL) might hit a rock.

We should be so lucky, so lucky lucky lucky.

Well back to the game, I thoroughly enjoyed my visit to the Shay.  It was a good game and an excellent atmosphere. The Halifax faithful seemed to enjoy themselves with their singing, which seemed to last the whole of the 2nd half.

The first half was equally matched, but of course the amount of tackling and effort wore Halifax down. Leeds having the benefit of that 2nd half and sailed away, so to speak.

It actually felt like an event, lunch was good, atmosphere excellent and a good game on the Park... Great effort by Halifax and its club staff.

A win for Halifax really, with a decent crowd of over 4500 in a great atmosphere. The Fax fans went home proud and happy again. The team yesterday that saw 5 players in Moore, Butler, Jones, Woodburn-Hall, Davies that had come through the reserve Grade and put in a great performance. Just the Fulltime fitness and Training putting a flattering score for Leeds as expected. No doubt Fax made some money on just this game alone. Though Fax lost on the Park, the game capped off another great week in the Qualifiers for the Championship Clubs. Next week 3 of the 4 face the possibility of playing in SL in 2019. All 4 Clubs will have only got positives from the Qualifiers.

Agreed it waa a great away day, its a very nice well run stadium and club and the Fax fans were great, the amount of Tackling Fax had to do was always going to tell in the 2nd half as soon as leeds upped the pace they struggled but they put up a real good fight, for Leeds Jack Walker was outstanding and the best player on the pitch by a mile he just needs to show it next season against the bigger clubs if he does that hell be pushing for an international place IMO
