The Dons finished the regular Betfred League One season with their 10th win in a row after beating Workington Town 44-32.

Richard Horne made five changes to his starting XIII, as Jack Sanderson, Jack Logan, Liam Harris, Ross Osborne and Brad England all came into the line-up.

The Dons made the perfect start and had the opening try of the game inside two minutes, as Jack Logan crossed in the corner.

Workington hit back straight away and levelled the scores when full-back Tyler Mellor got on the end of a kick through to touch down.

The Dons regained the lead on 11 minutes when Sanderson worked himself into space down the right and had too much strength for the Workington defence.

They scored again soon after when Sanderson again made a break, before supplying the pass for Matty Beharrell to race over underneath the posts. Beharrell converted for 14-4.

The Dons scored their fourth try of the opening 20 minutes when Richard Owen collected a bouncing ball and found Aaron Jones-Bishop who continued his impressive try-scoring record.

Town pulled a try back on 37 minutes, as back-rower Jacob Moore went through a gap to score. Carl Forber converted.

Logan then got his second of the game on the half-time hooter, as he managed to squeeze over the line under considerable pressure.

HALF-TIME | Doncaster RLFC 26–10 Workington Town

Workington scored the first try of the second half, as Moore beat his man to score his second and reduced the deficit.

An end-to-end game swung the Dons way once more when Jason Muranka powered through a gap and stretched his way over the line. Beharrell converted for 32-14.

The Dons extended their lead further when Liam Harris weaved his way through the Workington defence to ease his way over.

Workington refused to give up though and scored again when former Toronto man Sean Pencywicz twisted his way to the line.

Sanderson all but sealed the game for the Dons when he went over for his second, before Town scored two late tries through Joe Hambley and Fuifui Moimoi
