Toronto & Rule changes?

Recommended Posts

Do you think if Toronto win, we could take on a timing rule from ice hockey? With 2 minutes to go, the stadium announcer/official timekeeper could announce "Two Minute Warning", then after 1.00 minute, the countdown clock could show "59.9, 59.8, 59.7" etc, so that if there are penalties, the players will know exactly how long to go?

Just a thought.

Hmm...

Well in the NFL, the 2min warning goes on for about 3 days.  So maybe a 2min warnng to stretch the tension out somehow might work!  Stop the clock more rather than the shot clock. Of course if you are losing 80 - 0, then maybe we should stop the game 2mins early and get to the pub sooner.

Of course there may be more interest in a 'Two Minute Waring', where the ref does a running commentary....   "Up 'n under... Oh he's only got little legs but he runs em very fast...  Oh, POOR lad... Magic sponge... Ees gone t'th'early bath... Ees a pocket battleship... Aye aye."

They might have to put subtitles up on the big screen at Toronto games and if we were to have that at all games I don't think it translates into French!

As the time passes 78 minutes, an announcement to players that there is 2 minutes to play might put some urgency into some.

On BBC R5SX last night, a player from Wolves announced he didn't know what the score was. Despite there being a fcuking huge screen in front of him & a huge amount of touchline staff screaming at him. Stupid, or in need of reality?
