Is Captain Baitieri already Sydney bound along with Gigot - who's off to Moscow to see his brother who is a professional footballer. A chance then to see the likes of Marguerite and Marion in the starting line-up against Scotland Saturday. A Toulouse dominated line-up maybe with a few Elite 1 lads such as Yesa and Ecamilla.

The absence of Baitieri and Gigot will make a huge difference.

I agree. And as far as I know there will be more top players rested. That's why I see this as a fairly close game but with France at home having enough to win by about 14 pts.

It's only Baitieri, Gigot and Margalet out. With Escaré at fullback and Fages still in the halves, France should still have the spine to win this fairly comfortably, the pack's still a little light but with home advantage against this Scotland side I'd predict a twenty point advantage.

Fair enough. I thought more of the 17 from the last game would be on holiday.

France by 16 seems about right. Gigot makes alot of difference to France. So won't be a pasting of the Scots without him imo.

Surprised that Fages, Miloudi and Wigan lads are still there. As well as two Dragons who played at Wembley. Been a good tournament particularly for the likes of Da Costa and Belmas.7 Toulouse lads in the twenty,  would like to see Marion again and Marguerite for first time.

At half-time tomorrow the triumphant Tricolores 1978 who beat the Kangaroos twice that year will be introduced to the crowd. The group will assemble at the Lezignan club house in the morning before going over to Carcassonne for the Scotland game later. Finishing off the day by attending the post-match reception.Good stuff.

France by 30+

Good luck to Max Puech, top guy and an improving player.

Peter - unfortunately Puech pulled-up at the last training session yesterday and will miss his debut. Fages and Robin starting in halves. Marguerite on wing outside Miloudi. Albert on the bench with Marion, Canet and Yesa.

Hoping that this bit will be included on the BBC stream.

France are a bit sloppy, but dominating. Scotland have to scramble a bit in defence against a better side, but are hitting hard when they make their tackles.
