They’re as good as dead.

Would the team with a free weekend from Hemel’s demise not be able to play the team with a free weekend from Keighley’s demise each week?

Sounds simple, but this RFL and we know nothing is as simple as it seems. Even if it seems it's being run by simpletons.

The current owner owns the team, the players contracts, the deal with the stadium, even the team name. It would not be easy to oust him because all of that would go with him.

Can't the RFL effectively kick them out and allow a new club to join?

Yeah, lets just dump them and their hundred years of history, and all their supporters. Let them go to Halifax and Bradford and just forget about all of their former players who still meet up every year. Lets dump all the clubs who are struggling for money like Swinton, Whitehaven and infact most of the clubs below Super Greed. For every club that we dump we can allow all the SG clubs to bring over an extra Aussie each into our game.

if you look at the post he was quoting there is a chance the RFL would be helping Keighley by "kicking out" the current entity if he is not willing to sell etc.. then allow in "Keighley 2019" to take their place.. therefore not doing any of the above but allowing a club to move forward that is effectively hamstrung by a person not willing to help them out.

What strange suggestions you have made. Where did they come from? What is this Super Greed of which you write?

That's the first statement attributed to the RFL other than the Catalan response this year, thought they were hibernating, O'Neill holding out for getting the club handed over. Are the FB on standby?

They could play out of cougar park and the co op can throw the owner out now and let the new owners/club in

That sort of thing seems the obvious solution. The RFL could rescind the present Keighley club's membership and allow a new Keighley club, set up, say, by Mick O'Neill et al, to take their place. Leave chancer-in-chief Shane Spencer (a 'fit and proper person'?) to mull over what he's going to do about having at Cougar Park Steeton FC, not yet twelve months into a three-year tenancy agreement. Keighley RUFC appear keen to have the rugby league club use their shiny new plastic pitch. Why can't this happen? As for 'losing decades of history and tradition', well, that hasn't affected either Doncaster or York, who both started again after folding.

The history and tradition of the game is undervalued in many ways, however it won't pay the bills nor attract spectators, clubs like Warrington and the Rhino's at their rebuilt ground seem to have managed to include a respectful acknowledgement of their history, others likewise but time moves on and to survive RL club's have too.

History and Tradition does not pay bills. Forward modern thinking does if applied correctly, you are on the money.

Obviously good news that they've managed to shed that clown who was 'running' the club.

The twelve point deduction means they'll probably finish in the bottom couple of places, but at least the club can hopefully start to build for future seasons

I’m just glad they’re carrying on and  functioning . That’s the main thing .The deduction is a big burden for the season , but overall it’s agood outcome . It could have been much worse . All the best to everyone in breathing life back there
