Ah right, we were told no one had beaten a pro side at championship level, its obviously happened a few times from league 1 level. Was just checking as someone mentioned Sharlston beating Dewsbury but Dews were national league 2 then in 2004, still a great win.

Theres nothing better than seeing amateurs go real toe to toe with the pros. When we were in National League 3 and the promises that brought! We were in the northern rail cup, finished top of the group so went into the next round, played Hull KR away. We were the better side for 20 minutes, we were 10 nil up ad you just started to get a bit of a feeling we might have a chance. Then they brought Mikaili Aizue off the bench and that completely changed the game haha think it finished 50-16 great effort.

Our more recent Challenge Cup ties apart from the last Keighley one in 2014 we played Batley after beating Keighley who had a real good side then Joe Berry, and Shad Royston in the side and got well beaten. Also played Dewsbury and got beat 60-0 Richard Chapman tore us apart from hooker all day

We beat York in 1997 at their place too 21-14

We got to play Whitehaven in 1994/95 season in the third round after beating Askam (Away) and Thatto Heath (Home) in the previous rounds, we went in at half-time still well in the game but trailing 18 - 12, I think Kurt Sorensen's half time team talk scared us more than it did them, we finished well beaten 64 - 12 with them scoring most of their points in four small periods at the start and finish of both halves.

We were very disappointed when we won the Rugby League Conference Grand Final but got deigned a place in the 2009 Challenge cup when the RFL decided to invite the team we had beaten in the final.

I played (AN Other)  against Mikaili Aizue for Doncaster, my memory of him was having to walk sideway down the corridor in the changing rooms, luckily he never lasted long as he went off injured very early in the game.

Correction it wasn't Mikaili it was Zook Ema!!!

A little before my time at Hill were the days of playing Ellbra. Obviously beat Hill to win the national cup in 97 which coincidentally is on a well known video sharing site

Has a new sponsor been announced for the Challenge Cup yet?

Not that I have seen anywhere. Without a sponsor will expenses be paid? Not asking that to cause a stir just would hasve thought them sort of costs would come from sponsorship money rather than the RFLs back pocket
