total waste of 2 young lives- not sure why the police are involved in an investigation - surely this was just an accident in a very dangerous sport

The death rate in motorcycle circuit racing (as opposed to road races like the Isle of Man TT) is incredibly low and has been for decades. The scale of this accident and the fatal outcome is an outlier.

George Wendt, aka Norm from Cheers. To be honest, I thought he'd gone about 15 years ago.

Loved his character.

Probably my favourite scene was played out summat like :

Norm walks into the bar...

Diane : "Beer Norm?"

Norm : "Bit early isn't it?"

Diane : "Bit early for a beer?"

Norm : "No, bit early for stupid questions"

RIP George Wendt.

CLUB STATEMENT: IN MEMORY OF HILDA HARDY

It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Hilda Hardy this morning. Hilda was, without question, one of the most beloved and respected figures in the long and proud history of Halifax Panthers — a true icon whose name will forever be synonymous with the heart and soul of our club 💙

Mark Alun Jones, dual-code Rugby international.

Career in Rugby League: Hull FC, Warrington, Wales and Great Britain.

"Before Neath, where he was well-known for being one of the hard-men enforcers of the team"

Mark Jones gave an interview to the Western Mail saying his aggression on the field was heavily influenced by having a stutter that he was embarrassed about. That's why his natural personality off the field with people who knew him was different, as indicated in this obituary.

Anyone previously unaware of Rick Derringer should check out his Wikipedia page. Played with anyone and everyone across a wide specrum of musical styles. Random examples include Johnny Winter, Steely Dan and Cyndi Lauper.
