Angela Buxton, tennis player.

I'd never heard of her before reading her obituary, but she must have been a very interesting and admirable woman.

Here's an obituary without a paywall. A formidable character.

Even with Covid, 2020 hasn't matched 2016 in terms of reaping celebrities.

"I am the avenging angel; I come with wings unfurled, I come with claws extended from halfway round the world. I am the God Almighty, I am the howling wind. I care not for your family; I care not for your kin. I come in search of terror, though terror is my own; I come in search of vengeance for crimes and crimes unknown. I care not for your children, I care not for your wives, I care not for your country, I care not for your lives." - (c) Jim Boyes - "The Avenging Angel"

Walter Lure didn't have the most conventional post punk life story. He went on to make a lot of money as a Wall Street stockbroker then returned a couple of years ago with his own band, The Waldos.

Been some sad news in the world of rock these last few days. We've also lost Pete Way (UFO, Waysted) and Ron Heathman ex of The Supersuckers who were just about the best live rock 'n' roll band going around during his time with them.

I missed the news about Pete Way.

Heard it from a mate about a week ago. Doesn't seem that long ago since we saw him live at The Adelphi in Hull with Waysted.

Justin Townes Earle, 38, son of Steve and one of his many wives. Was a gifted musician and songwriter in his own right but sadly suffered with the family trait of periods of addiction though no reason has been given for his death. Had a sister, Stacey who he wrote, produced and performed with occasionally.

RIP Chadwick Boseman.  Way too young.

With the best, thats a good bit of PR, though I would say the Bedford team, theres, like, you know, 13 blokes who can get together at the weekend to have a game together, which doesnt point to expansion of the game. Point, yeah go on!

Very sad news. 'Black Panther' should have been the springboard to great things for him.

David Capel 57 . Incredibly sad . Very good allrounder , and I’d only just watched him on Pictures From Paradise discussing the 1990 WI tour

A name that sticks in your mind if you followed cricket in the late 80s and early 90s. RIP

David Capel was in a Sky (?) retrospective cricket documentary a few weeks ago. He looked terrible ... bald with a huge scar down the crown of his head. However, his comments were delivered in good spirit.

A very sad loss.
