Hollywood actress Katherine Helmond, aged 89. A talented and bloody funny star.

I think like many my first experience of the Prodigy was hearing Charlie (on a mixtape that had been smuggled out of Wigan Pier).

There was nothing too groundbreaking about it I guess except a sample from a public safety film that we were all familiar with.

But then came the constant churn of top tunes and albums that spoke of the talent within the Prodigy.

I even remember us as lads trying to study Keith and Leroy’s dance moves - I think it’s first time any of us had ever tried to do that ahead of a big night out.

Thanks for all the great times, Keith.

RIP Luke Perry

With the best, thats a good bit of PR, though I would say the Bedford team, theres, like, you know, 13 blokes who can get together at the weekend to have a game together, which doesnt point to expansion of the game. Point, yeah go on!

Caused some moral outrage/panic at the time and launched the Prodigy to the masses.

Great live too.

The video was shown on TOTP and I believe it caused uproar.

Another one from yesterday was WWF wrestler King Kong Bundy.

I wasn't the greatest fan of his music (a bit too old possibly) but there seems a lot of genuine affection for him out there. He also seemed to be a genuinely nice bloke.

So sad that he thought it necessary to take his own life.

Jacques Loussier (26 October 1934 – 5 March 2019), French jazz pianist and composer. His jazzed-up Bach was not really to my taste, but he was very big in his day.

Given the tales about his drinking, and the state he was in last time I saw a photo of him, I'm amazed he lasted this long.

Drum legend Hal Blaine, aged 90, according to enough internet talk to be credible.

I've just been reading now how many great songs he played on.

The Boxer is an obvious choice. California Dreaming too.

An obscure one I like is "Any world that I'm welcome too" by Steely Dan.

Those session musicians played a massive part, at least in American music, during the 1960's and much of the 70's.
